Going Once, Twice: Myspace Up For Sale

News Corp owned website Myspace has been in trouble for some time, we all know that, but none more than it’s proprietor.

Sitting up on the auction block starting in mid-March, the former social networking site turned “entertainment hub,” has been said to have been looked into by many varieties of company. Around 20 possible companies are thus far looking to bid on the top-100 ranked website, varying from private equity and venture capitol, to social companies like MocoSpace and possibly Zynga.

    Facebook just completely dominated MySpace.
Not surprised MySpace is going up for sale.

Was bound to happen sooner or later, facebook is far superior for the average person. Myspace is useful for bands and fans but that's all that I'll credit them for. Out with the old, in with the new

    Myspace is good for music.
I've got a profile from 2008 or something that i've never used.

Next up, Bebo (if anyone remembers that).

Surprised didn't happen earlier to be honest. I don't know anyone with a MySpace where I live, so unless it's still popular somewhere in the United States, Facebook pretty much shit on them.

Well well well, i dislike both social networks. Hopefully they both will rot one of these days. There's a difference between a casual network and a network thats almost dominating people's lives. E.G. a movie on it, parents doing facebook births. Like COME ON, you get hacked and your profile gets trolled, your life is ruined.

Yeah I'm not surprised. Facebook surpassed Myspace by lightyears. I'm surprised Myspace isn't dead already. I'm curious as to how much it will sell for though.

With the dominance facebook has now, this was pretty much inevitable. RIP myspace.

It's already dead where I'm from. I remember I use to love Myspace when I was 12-14, thought it was the coolest thing, and that Facebook sucked. Now I don't even have a Myspace, and i'm currently logged into facebook, and everyone else is on it too, where I'm from anyways.

Myspace is for pedophiles to dwell and hunt 10-14 year old children that still use that site. I only liked the fact you could put music on your channel. Other than that the features are really neglected. No one in the right mind will buy it unless they have a better idea than facebook, but even then it will be hard to get people to switch, myspace has that dead name too, whenever you hear it, people are like, eh.... pedophilia. But facebook, they think, hey yeah I use this everyday, I like it. So myspace has a small chance IMO.
