Avoid contact with the friends that dip for about a week.
Stay busy, put yourself in situations as often as possible where it is an impossibility to dip tobacco.

I am also having a hard time quitting smoking (again).

If you want to talk or need any other help just message me here or on MSN.

There are 2 ways I know to quit an addiction.

    Will power.
Replace it with another more productive addiction, or at least safe addiction.

Your gonna need an incredible amount of will power to stop the addiction, I suggest going to the doctor, I'm fairly sure they can provide something that could aid in stopping it.

Most important thing is to do something all the time so you dont have the time to think about cigarettes. Some people have tried to substitute their addiction with something else such as eating gum or chocolate. Thats one of the reason people start to gain weight when they are quitting. I'd suggest to find an activity or hobby so that you can get your mind of the cigarettes and dont have to fight with yourself all the time

Good for you! Like Nuhtai said above, get involved with activities so there is literally no time to think about your addiction, or tell you friend to physically restrain you if he sees you back at it.

Man I feel ya, Ive been dipping Cope since I was about 14 tried to quit 3 or 4 times (Quit once for about a year)and I'm from Georgia... So all my buddies dip. Best advice I can give you.

Go on a lil road trip or Camping for a week or so

Don't drink. It always leads to, Hey man can I get a rub?

Try to get your friends to not dip around you for a couple weeks

Whenever you feel the urge to put one in make yourself do some pull ups/sit ups/push ups... That what did it for me the only time I was ever able to quit for a while. Then I had to put my dog down and the first thing I did was put in a dip and drink a beer

(Now you got me wanting to put one in just thinking about the shit)

I'm quitting cigarettes in March, and it is really painful for me, and having a t-break on other things.

    tl;dr: I feel your pain.

Hmm, that's a tough addiction to stop. I can't really give you any good advice as I haven't smoked/done any drugs in my life, but just find something to keep you busy all the time. If you like reading, go to the library, borrow a book, and sit down.

MY step dad dips...I think its a disgusting habit. Glad your trying to quit :]

My moms trying to quit smoking, and its working out very well. Shes using the Nicotine gum, and the 3 step patches...the money you spend on them twice is about equivalent to 1 box of "good cigarettes"

It works with Dip too :] Hope I helped

Yea, I quit dipping last night at midnight so I'm ridding myself of a few spitters and tins that are laying around. I plan also to slow the drinking because I need to also.

Whatever anyone says about quitting, make sure it's reasonable.

I've been smoking for about 5 years now and about a year ago i decided i wanted to quit and stopped completely. I lasted a month and now it's worse than ever.

My advice is, break it down in steps.

I was on about 15 a day. Now i'll have 3 a day. One in the morning, one after lunch, one before bed.

My plan is to cut the one after lunch out after a couple of weeks.

So far it's going good, i feel good, not thinking about having a cigarette all the time. Activities do help.

Do it how you want bro, but i think the way i'm doing it has really helped me.

Another way of doing it is smoking chips. So smoke half a cigarette, cut it, smoke the other half later.

Hope i helped, PM me if you need more help!

I'd switch to something less dangerous, like chewing gum or eating sunflower seeds. Also, find ways to punish yourself if you do chew. For example, if you chew, no RS/Sythe for x amount of days. Good luck bro, it's for the best, you'd be amazed how much longer you live if you stay away from tobacco products.
