How does Western Union work?

I was wondering if anyone could help explain to me how one would use western union to sell intangible goods. I have read through their official website which talks about instant money transfers, but I'm not sure the methods to be 100% safe during trades.

If anyone has any knowledge using western union I would greatly appreciate hearing from you

 

Western Union can be done online or IRL at a store that has WU.

WU does have fees but you can receive money in as quick as 10 minutes of sending it. It is also 100% safe, as in no charging back like paypal. To use WU you only need the opposite partys name, city, state and country. If receiving $ you need to have a form of ID.

What if your under age?

Basically say someone sent you $500, and your 15-17. You have your drivers license, but can you receive the money?

Also when conducting is it possible to see when someone has sent money to you? Like when someone sends money to you via PayPal you can see your PayPal balance go up, is it the same for WU?

You can't lie about your age can you?

 

You do not have a visible western union balance anywhere.

You can be underage to receive.

You can see if a money transfer has indeed been sent but you have no way of knowing how much it was for until you pick it up.
