rs3 dying?

is rs3 dying and what needs to be done to fix the game

 

removing eoc and rs3 would be a step in the right direction

EOC pretty much killed the game. I really enjoyed it before EOC :|

 

This, A large majority of the old RS players quit because they dont like RS3. And after all the time ive spent on my main, they make you restart? Thats complete BS. They shouldve at least let you keep your skills from RS3 to OSRS.

$ spent on membership went to waste. Complete BS IMO.

 

Sadly I don't like OSRS either, I wanted 2012 RS, pre EOC.

 

Same, i wouldnt mind OSRS if the stats kept but i cant be bothered to spend hours training a new account, legit w/o bots like they want you to, without spending a ton of money and wasting a ton of time.

I been out the game for several years now and have the interest of coming back, but after reading about some of the new changes to the game it makes me think twice. Are there any good things about the Rs3? Also, what happened to the street prices of rares (it seems like there isnt much demand for partyhats on this forum as before)?

 

i survived trought trade limit, the removal of wilderness and stuff. But the eoc was like the hugest derp for me. I was like "fk this kids stuff, im out"

 

They need to halt whatever the fuck squeal of fortune update they have planned and concentrate all of their development time on converting the live game to have pre-eoc mechanics. Undoing the taskbar, interface system, armor reworks, fixing split private chat, converting the necessary bosses to work, reverting the hits to be x10 instead of whatever they have it at now, adding spec, fixing prayers to work like they did, etc.

I see this as the second MAJOR fuck up in Jagex history, right behind the removal of free trade. They need to put a poll out, right now. I can guarantee there would be 75+% support for this. No, not 2011 "servers" to divide the community, just fixing the damage that they've done and apologizing to the players for their enormous unwanted fuck up.


Of course this isn't going to happen, because they've put money into and they're too damn arrogant to realize that the effort that they've put into it has been a mistake. This isn't a step back, this isn't regression, this is repairing the game to make it playable before development continues.

 

They will rebound like always.

 

Am i the only one who actually kind of appreciated eoc? I mean it had it's problems... I kind of think they should have integrated specs in with adrenaline and i don't like how item stats work now but compared to the old combat system isn't it an improvement? Maybe this is just an opinion of a wow player but the old combat system was point and click and wasn't much of a combat system at all. I didn't really like it or hate it but it was just always there. I like that they were able to add to the combat experience and for me it was a step in the right direction despite the flaws.

 

WTf is this shit. It was rs classic, rs 2 then eoc+rs3. Why do they make an osrs! They shouldve made rs3 a new thing completely and made it so there is

like actually wtf? They didnt get rid of classic, nope, but they do get rid of rs2 for rs3 but keep the old ones and make a new one. So sad -_-

 

If they had done what they did with rsc -> rs2 they would be splitting the community a lot. They probably chose the rs07 because it was the most iconic time of rs2 (even though their official reason was it was the only one possible). If they chose just before eoc it wouldn't be enough of a jump between the two games as the graphics are similar. Either way if they just did a clean cutoff they would still have to do a reset as a majority of the community would probably stay with rs2. Forcing people to switch to rs3 is probably better to get people to play it.

 

At best its a poor attempt at emulating the experience in other mmo's. The "combat experience" completely destroyed the entire pk'ing community. I don't think even a wow player would be able to say with a straight face that it brings anything positive to pvp style combat,

The old combat system might have been a bit simple, but at least it wasn't horrible to use. I've slayed from 80-95 slayer using the new combat system and I have to tell you that I absolutely hate it.

I'm not the only one either, they need to release a poll and simply give the players the option. They did this without our support to "future proof" the game but all they've done is further diminish their playerbase.

 

i honestly think it did add something to the game. I do admit it seems a bit spammy and the abilities aren't too special (except ultimates I like what they did with them) but I think what it did to pvp was make it too micromanagy as opposed to what players were accustomed to. I never really pked before eoc on my main but when the eoc beta came out i put in many hours and it was probably the most fun i had on rs in a while at the time. I just think it's a bit drastic to say that a whole game was ruined because the combat system changed.

 

Its ruined two major components of the game, pking and pvm.

No one in the runescape community wants to play broken wow style combat, and the complete emptiness of the wilderness proves that. It isn't simply that "we haven't adjusted to it" its a case of "the system is so bad that it isn't possible to have enjoyable pvp combat."

Pvm, do I really need to say more? Its so awful spamming f1-f9 for hours just to get the same amount of experience that you used to. After about 3 hours of that you just want to kill yourself. They tried to implement momentum to combat this but they made it so under powered that its unusable.

I strongly disagree, I think it IS enough to ruin the game.

It effects everything (minigames, pvp, pvm, item prices, quests, pures), every non-skilling aspect of the game really.

How long have you played runescape? Can you really say that castle wars is more enjoyable now? Can you really say that spamming f1-f9 beats hybriding as it existed? Can you really say that slayer is a more enjoyable skill now?

You might have liked toying around in the beta, but this update is absolutely game breaking. And the amount of players online really shows it.
