Dragon Fire Shield?

My general question is, is the DFS actually worth buying?

I'm about to get 99 strength soon and I'm planning on whipping nearly all my slayer tasks.

My current gear set-up:

• Slayer Helmet
• Fury
• Fighter Torso
• Bandos Tassets
• Fire Cape \ Strength Cape
• Whip
• Rune Defender
• Dragon Boots
• Barrows Globes

• Also am using a Bunyip (only 68 summoning at the moment).
• Plan on getting the Enchanted Exalibur after I sell my SS (9m for Prayer).

DFS is definitely worth it. Useful for any dragon task, rune defender doesn't beat it in strength and the DFS offers loads more defense bonuses.

 

DFS for sure. The defense bonuses are amazing, and it can unleash an easy 20+ hit if you'd ever need it, and instead of wearing a filmsy anti-dragon shield to dragon tasks you have a beast shield instead.

I would get a dragonfire shield for now. And save up for a Saradomin Godsword. So with cash + selling dragonfire shield if you have enough money to buy a SGS then get a SGS. SGS + Guthan or Bunyip is CRAZY usefull. Plus during task i would use prayer and when i run out i would special, and get some prayer back so i can use prayer again. decreasing my time i have to spend on my task.

I have my SGS, and i have RARELY used whip and dragonfire shield, only when im doing dragon task. But i usally just cancel those task and try to power lvl slayer with better killing monsters.

 

Not worth it. you are better off with an anti dragon sheild and a rune defender

 

Agree'd, it's a pricy thing. Until cash is raining from the sky, I'd stick with anti-drag/defender.

i have a dfs but im a ranger 100+ range strength is worth it and for strength melee style i still think is worth it

 

dfs defence bonus is sick, it really pays off on hard tasks. i think you should buy it.

 

Depends if you have the money for it... If it's really hard for you to make money, then I don't think you should. I have both rune defender and DFS, but i change them in some tasks like spirit mages cuz rune defender has attack bonuses. Str bonuses don't really matter much.

 

Attack bonuses are more important for slayer task considering you already have bunyip and are also get EE. Finally kenny listened to meh on getting it^^

 

DFS is a great investment, the defence bonuses are AMAZING, but a rune defender has more attack bonuses.. so it's honestly your choice. also the DFS is about.. 34m mor expensive =)

 

DFS is beyond expensive, so not worth it unless you have extra $$! It's more of a showoff item imo.

 

I have plenty of cash, I'd just need to liquidate some of my holiday items.

Noob, I told you I was going to get it after 99 strength when I sold my Sara Sword. Didn't you use to have one?

 

Nothing better then showing off your DFS in free worlds. DFS is awesome.

 

It's 30m for a reason, it gets the job done and it has amazing bonus'.

If you have full bandos + slayer mask and DFS, you're golden.

 

Definatly worth it.If ur going to slay this helps you a lot,like any drag task,insane defences for harder tasks.I personaly had ags also and i woudnt swich back for any reason in the world.
Like some guy said,if u have bandos also and slay helm ur going to kick ass hard time.

 

Dragonfire Shields are great. It's well worth it, I'd recommend buying it.

 

I would buy a DFS if I were you. Not only is it good for dragon tasks and the strength/defense bonuses, but it's a very versatile shield; it can be used for Melee, Range, OR Mage. Very useful in my opinion.
