wtf whats up with this change pins - upgrades??

hey i just got an infraction by trying to buy a pin? whats up with this??? i saw no sticky that said to not buy membership pins... please tell me what all this crap if about

 

Trading pins is no longer allowed on Sythe.org.
However, you can buy an "account upgrade" and deal with the person off site. Ask the person if that upgrade entails putting membership on your account, as it usually does.
Bottom line is, don't mention pins on Sythe.

Not to long ago. And because Sythe does not endorse illegality..Most pins were obtained via pin lines and there isn't any way of telling how the person aquired the pins, therefore you can still get membership from a person on Sythe.org, but it's called account upgrading and like rsaccounttrader said you have to deal with them off-site.

EDIT: There was also an announcement about the poll regarding this, though it doesn't announce the rule, you could have gotten the wanted info from the announcement.

 

You can get someone to add membership to your account. Much like you get someone to train any skill for you. Once they have added membership, you pay them.

 

well the rule says that you will be banned for selling pins but says nothing about being banned / getting an infraction for tryign to buy 1... and isnt getting your account upgraded still buying a pin? its the same thing...

 

They are just doing it so it sounds less illegal since everyone selling "pins" were getting them illegally via pin lines.

 

Sythe removed any mention of selling pins on the site due to legal reasons. He made it so that you get account upgrades with an offsite contract with someone. Basically, its taking the actually selling and discussing of pins off the site to protect it legally.

they ban you for selling pins but they have a seperate thread to sell "upgrades" it is the same thing just a difrent name... people can still use a illegal pin line and call it an "uprade" it changes nothing

 

Upgrading unfortunately means that you have to give them your details or use teamviewer to go onto there computers log in then they enter their's you just have to hope they aren't keylogging. Though I am not quite sure if when you are using teamviewer if it logs it.

 

It's basically the same thing, but since you're doing it off-site, Sythe isn't responsible for the pins that are obtained / used.

 

if its offsite then why is their a thread about account upgrades?

 

It can still take place on site if they discuss it through private messages? Pretty confusing - would greatly appreciate a further explanation of the legal repercussions if anyone can go into detail.

trading pins isnt aloud bc sythe determined that too many people that sold pins had illegal methods of obtaining them and we don't want sythe to hold reponsibility and have to shut down bc of that.
