Ban after being cooperative throughout a scam report?

A scam report was made on me for "recovering" my main that I sold a long time ago, the person I sold to then resold the account.

Einqebinquet - person I sold to
Ice - person he sold to

They both messaged me instantly saying Im getting banned if I dont recover account back for them, I didnt have much time at the time to submit a recovery test at the time so I said I would try with some small info I knew. Over the next few days I didnt get a reply from jagex but was threatened with a ban.


I messaged Superman asking about this situation and he said the following


So I did what he said, and ignored it until it became a scam report.

Then I was being cooperative with amethyst and asking him what I can do for him, come to read any messages today and see I'm banned forever.

Can I ask why I was banned when I am being super cooperative, and if superman is right they could have easily locked the account themselves with transaction ID's alone could they not?

 

Unfortunately, as the original owner of the account it is expected that you're always going to be able to recover the account you created (which is true). In this case, an account that you sold was sold on once again, and then recovered. It is your responsibility as the seller of an account to ensure that the account is always safe for the buyer (in this case, the buyer of the buyer) and therefore you will need to return the account to Ice / Refund him in order for an unban to be considered.

The situation you're in is unfortunate, but it's one that can be worked out.
