How to download and use Steam!

Welcome to my guide on how to download, navigate and play Steam!

Now you may be wondering what Steam even is. Steam is a program that you can purchase games right from you computer and play them there as well. Steam is used by hundreds of thousands of users each day. Also Steam can sometimes have much better prices then if you were to go straight to a store and buy it.​

First of go to: http://store.steampowerd.com/​

After getting to the website click on "Install Steam in the top right corner.​

Then follow the instructions in the following screen:​

After that click "Save file" to start the download. Depending on your internet it should take 1-2 minutes.​

After it has completed downloading open up the program just like you would with any other one.​

To purchase a game click on "Store" and then browse through the different sections until you find a game you like. Once you have found one you want to buy click "Add to Cart."



After you have the game in your cart you can check out. Just click "Purchase for myself" and then continue following the steps on screen. (I can't actually show my self doing this for privacy reasons. Just follow the simple steps and it shouldn't be a hassle but if you have any problems pm me and I will help you.)



Now that you have your game purchased and downloaded go to "Library" and then double click on the game to start playing.



After this the game will be just as if you purchased it from a store. A cool feature that Steam has is you can press 'Shift+Tab' and that will open up a window that list's your friends online and a few other things.



Over all Steam can be a helpful and quick place to purchase games. Some times they have better offers than in their store then other places but that does vary at times. If you want to purchase a game on the spot and can't go out to the store then using Steam is a great solution.

Great guide..but am I right when I say it seems like it's not worth it? I've never known anything about Steam, but now that I do I still don't want to use it...

 

It's completely up to you. Personally I have gotten a couple games cheaper off of Steam then I would in a store. Thanks for the feedback.

Look, companies like Steam make their websites user-friendly so mass amounts of internet gamers can access it. This guide is completely useless, and a waste of everyones time. Not recommended to the User Educator Department.

 

Look, just because I got you in trouble in Hahanerd in the IRC doesn't mean you need to write bad feed back on my guides. Don't be bitter, I know it's not the best guide ever written but considering you still are mad at me about what happened I am ignoring your feedback.

 

Ah, I see that you are using the "you're still heated excuse" to combat my remarks. Well sorry for being bitter, I just stumbled upon one of the most pointless guides I have ever read, in my opinion. Congratulations that you know it's not the best guide ever written; next time figure out that it's one of the worst guides ever written!
