How to properly cool down after an exercise.

After and before working out or doing something physical you should do a few things to help optimize your results.

Do NOT stretch before working out, this will stretch out, and thin your muscles before working out making you susceptible to rhabdomyolysis or muscle injuries.

Before working out do a warm up to help prepare your body for the up coming work, the warm up could be a run or something up that alley.

Don't eat a meal before working out as this could cause vomiting, nausua etc. during you workout.

While working out remember to use proper form to avoid serious exercise related injury.

After working out you SHOULD stretch to help cool down your muscles.

Drink lot's of water warm water to help replenish your bodies lost fluids.

Now some legal stuff so I don't get sued by a dumbass.
Always remember to consult an exercise coach before embarking on a fitness journey, I am not an do not claim to be a certified exercise coach. I do not take any responsibility to any injury you or others by following this guide.

Er, maybe use some less grotesque pictures? But this has true information, so that's good. You've got a couple spelling errors and such, and
Just telling you now, you're not going to get sued for writing a guide on cooling down.

Don't stretch before you work out?... I'm sure that helps warm up your muscle so you don't pull them. Also mention that drinking warm water after you excercise is better than cool water.

It makes your muscles prone to exercise related injury such as rhabdo. Think on taking a rubber band and stretching it out and it staying that way then trying to carry weights with it. It weaker and will break easier.

    A few grammar/spelling errors I noticed.
Also I agree with toeknee that stretching out before a work-out is warming up and is probably the most important thing to do before working ut.

Static stretching (what you are thinking about) is bad.
Dynamic stretching (doing a warm up such as light lifts a small jog etc.) is good.

Static stretching is really stretching while dynamic stretching is not really stretching per say but warming up.

Sorry but that link you gave me is useless, considering I am not registered to that website and therefore cannot read.
Every sports coach I have ever trained with has always made us stretch before we play/train and alot of times when I have not stretched out I have pulled muscles.
I'm not flaming you, just simply disagreeing with something you've said.

That article requires no membership to get on. Meh just go to crossfit.com and search around. Im not every coach you have had. Im stating something from CrossFit an elite exercise group known worldwide.

How to properly cool down after an exercise.

I am currently doing a workout program called the p90x.
I do warmups and cooldowns before and after each workout, respectively.
I know static is different from dynamic. But is there a difference betweem ballistic and dynamic stretching? Or are they synonyms...?
