How to awnser Comprehension questions properly

Hi there, in this guide i will be teaching you how to awnser Comprehension, read through this passage please, (i made it up)

Roxanne was rendering hypothesis of the delicate sub-species of plankton because she found it very appealing, she was very upset that she did not know any other people that could do this also, as all of her friends were impaired. Roxanne, as a teacher, decided to walk to the coast and collect some salt water, to do an experiment with the children in her class.

Question : What was Roxanne rendering hypothesis of? (3 marks)

How to awnser, first we shall use the basic structure, before you start your question, look at how many marks are on offer, in this example there are three, so it is obvious you will not get all three marks for a one sentence breif awnser. Say for example we shall write three sentences to achieve full marks.

    Starting your awnser :

you must always write full sentences, in this example you should start like so :

Roxanne was rendering hypothesis of :

    or

The sub-species that Roxanne was rendering hypothesis of was :

very simple. This will get you around one mark.

    Now for the next section.

I always use my formula for awnsering questions , and that is :

    PEE

P.oint - give the basic awnser wanted.
E.xample - back up your information with quotes from the passage (not always needed)
E.xplination (explain why or what the person / animal was doing, etc.)

So i would awnser it like this :

Roxanne was rendering hypothesis of (point) the sub species plankton. (you wont need to back up your information for this type of question) (skipping to explination) Roxanne was taking part in this experiment because she found it appealing. (explination)

It is vital that you also know how to spell complex words, as these will give you instant marks.

I assume that you also understand these factors :

    Basic punctuation
    Spelling
    A large vocabulary
    Common sense

And i would also like to say that it is a good idea to read the passage at least twice and highlight important parts before you awnser the questions, it is also important to check your work as many times as possible.
