Hello sythe, Mike_w_99 here, with a guide on how to Keep your account secure, and not get scammed with buying Runescape accounts. ( I use this same method, and it has not failed me yet.) If you are going to post "oh wrong section" OR "this wont work" please leave now. rate/comment. thanks.

Step1. The most obvious thing to do when purchasing RuneScape accounts is to Use a trusted, or Official MM. The list for official MM's can be found here. http://sythe.org/showthread.php?t=245230

Step 2. Purchasing the account: Ok well, the first thing you want when purchasing a Runescape account is somthing that meets your desires. The account must be f2p, as I am not sure if this method works with pbp/sms pins. once you find what you are looking for, you will then go through the typical steps to buying an account. It is manditory that you get the correct information, INCLUDING, old recoveries, password, when the account was made, the internet used to make the account. Of course, after you get your account you will want to change your password first. you will change password 3 times.

Step 3.Ok, this is where you MUST have a credit card ready. It's now time to make the account yours for good. Note: PAYPAL will also work with this method. Go to Start a Subscription, then Select paypal, or pay by credit card. You then fill in all the fields, with the correct information. You will have to enter your address, phone number, etc. Another method which can be used, would be PAY BY CASH, via mail. This will also work because you are sending from the adress, and it will also give you your IP address. this method would be the one which is bottom left, red box in this picture. Select the payment type and fill out the fields required, this is very similar to credit card, and paypal, therefore making this method also able to work.

Here are the pictures on how to do this correctly.





Ok, now that you have done that, you now need to fill out all the required information.
Now, go to recover a stolen password.


You will then click recover stolen password.
Enter in all details, putting in the old recoveries, the transaction ID, The agreement number [ you get this at the end of your subscription, transaction id in your email.] You will then set the subscription date to the earliest credit card subscription date.

Next you have to enter in your email, this will be the one that you subscribed with. Then the postal code, which will also be the one you subscribed with.

Now is the passwords, if the person did not give you any, enter in the 3 you changed it to, from the above steps.

Now, you have other details. Set it to the internet provider he/she gave you, if not, then enter your current one. Put the date you moved, to the date of the subscription. For the other detail section, enter your address, phone number, where you live.

This should work 100% of the time whenever needed to recover the account. Note: this does not make it so the person whom you bought it off of, cannont recover it, but it makes it so you will always be able to recover it.

Sorry to say drafun, but yours is simply on buying accounts, and selling accounts. Mine is a guide which is detailed perfectly, on how to make your account "SECURE" after you have purchased it.

 

I just read your whole guide and sorry to say but it's incorrect. Let me summarize your guide:

Account must be f2p. First change password 3 times then make it p2p by using a credit card or paypal. You are now assuming that it will be impossible to get the newly bought account stolen.

WRONG:

In jagex eyes when recovering an account, the older the data is (and if its correct) the better. Since all your data: passwords, credit card information /paypal info (confrimation number, ect) is VERY recent. the seller could just recover the account by providing older information to jagex..

 

make it a sticky<--(mabye) but thing is people these days dont have a way to pay with paypal or credit they can be using dads or moms credit card so try to find a way where you cant pay so its a 7/10

 

Yes. Older information is better, and I know that, however, if you have the information regardless, jagex will still accept your appeal. I did this on another account as a test, so don't tell me i'm wrong. If that's what you came here to do get off my thread, please.

Summarry of my thread: Bought f2p account. Ask them for all information, whatever they dont give you, do yourself, 3 passes, member sub, etc. Make it members paypal, or credit card, as it gets your email, address, phone number etc. WHEN recovering, put you moved in 2008. therefore making your ip, etc, the new info. It works, don't tell me i'm wrong. Once again, this is to secure your account so you can recover it, even though the other person can still recover it. It's not to make it so they can't recover it, as that is probably impossible. It's just so if you find yourself stuck because someone recovered the account sold to you, you don't have to hesitate to get it back.

That being said, is there anything else you want to flame about?

 

Exactly, you use your parents credit card, verified by them. This is also only for the people with paypal/credit cards able to be used.

Well, for those who can't they can also use pay by mail. I'm actually glad you pointed that out, I will edit it in sometime soon, I don't know if i'm going to use a picture for it.

 

The seller could recover it once again after you, buyer, has recovered. How? using older information. After seller has recovered it this time, Jagex will no longer accept your appeals that contain the:

- 3 new passwords
- the new paypal/creditcard confirmation information

Kind of simple..

again:

Say you did this:

1. bought account and its f2p
2. changed password 3 times, third time being current password
3. made the account p2p by paypal or credit card
4. seller recovers the account
5. you think "wut da fak?"
6. you attempt to recover the accoutn using the three new passes and confirmation data from the credit card /paypal pay you made to make the account p2p. you also say you moved in 2008.
7. claim *somehow* gets accepted
8. seller once more recovers the account using older information
9. you try to recover, claim denied. why? you keep using the new information while seller uses the same old, or even older, information which thereby proves he is the true owner because he has older info.

did you know when you recover they use old ip now ive tried couldnt recover my new accounts because of ip

 

They do use old IP, but if you don't forget to put the date of moving, you can use the new IP, or log onto runescape, and collect the you last logged in from ---------- Ip address.
