How to softmod an ORIGINAL xbox (fairly cheap).

Ok Well today i am going to teach you how to softmod an original Xbox.
To start off Softmodding an xbox allows you to do many things with it such as.....

~ Saving a disk to the hard drive so you can play the game WITHOUT the disk in.

~ Getting a customizable dashboard (The dash board is the menu you are brought to when you turn the xbox on without a disk in it.)

Ok on with the guide now...

Step 1. Get yourself an original xbox if you didnt have one already.

Step 2. Set up your new xbox obviously lol.

Step 3. Buy Action replay and The ORIGINAL splinter cell game (The first one they came out with... You can get it on ebay or amazon for very cheap.)

Step 4. Install your action replay disk to your computer and open it up.

Step 5. Take out the wire and card and plug them into your computers USB.

Step 6. Download the Splinter cell Linux file from action replay and drag it into your memory card side.

Step 7. Unplug the memory card and go to your xbox.. Take any disk out of the xbox... Plug in your action replay memory card into your controller.

Step 8. When your in your dashboard find memory devices and choose the splinter cell linux one and hit open or download.

Step 9. When that is done put your Splinter cell disk in.

Step 10. When your at the splinter cell menu go to start new game or whatever.

Step 11. You should see the word "Linux" choose it. And after you have chosen linux choose "Check points"

Step 12. After you choose it your screen will go black then blue.. DONT PANIC that is normal.

Step 13. It will bring you to a new menu That will say "Create MS backup"

Step 14. You will be able to choose 2 different options "Evo X or Install Unleash X" These are what style your new dashboard will look like.... I recommend choosing Evo x because it looks cooler... Its easier to use... And it has more options.

Step 15. Once you have chosen Evo x or unleash x it will say intall soft mod.... Choose that and restart your xbox once that is done.

Step 16. When your xbox reboots your new dash board will be there which has many cool options to play around with.

Step 17. With your new modded dash board you will be able to save games to your xbox and play them without disks. (Very helpful if you lose a disk or scratch it... BUT NEVER SELL YOUR DISKS AFTER YOU HAVE SAVED THEM TO YOUR XBOX BECAUSE YOU CAN GET IN TROUBLE FOR THAT.)

Well this is my guide to Soft modding your xbox. There are other things you can do with it such as modding games like halo 2 which basically lets you do anything you want to the weapons/vehicles/objects and such...

NOTE If you dont follow these steps very carefully you can screw up your xbox (I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU BREAK YOUR XBOX DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK but it is very worth doing =].)
