Tsearch (similar to ArtMoney and the open source Cheat Engine) is a memory scanner/debugger utility developed by Corsica Productions. Tsearch’s primary function is to scan open processes for byte addresses; restricting searches to either ‘Exact Value’, ‘Range’ or ‘Unknown Values’. The searches can be refined by using a ‘Search Next’ (or sieve) option: this re-searches already found results to display results suiting a further refined criterion. Tsearch also features a hex editor and 'auto hack' option, and is commonly used within the game hacking community to develop 3rd party game ‘trainers’ and ‘hacks’.

Tsearch’s features can be enhanced when using the ‘Trainer Maker Toolkit’ (TMK) – a highly developed form .exe maker which takes tsearch’s ‘poke’ addresses and adapts them into a 3rd party program.

Action Replay Codes

These codes tell the device how to manipulate the game's memory registers while the game is running. These codes will not work without the hardware device in place. Action Replay codes are also compatible with GameShark brand cheat devices.

Cheat
AKA: Hack, Code This is a very broad term. A cheat as it applies to our website is defined as anything that can be used to modify the way a game is played, which can be codes or such that were inserted by the developer or external programs that make the game act in a way that was not meant by the programmers.

Command-Line Cheat
AKA: Shortcut This type of cheat is used when it's required to add a parameter to the way a game is launched in order to activate internal cheat codes or options. Follow these instructions:

1. Press "Start" and find the icon (shortcut) for the game.
2. Right-click on the icon, then click on properties.
3. In the "Target" box you'll find the location of the game's executable.
(example: "C:\Game Files\GameX\GameX.exe")
4. Add the command-line cheat to the end of this line.
(example: "C:\Game Files\GameX\GameX.exe" -cheat)
5. Once you make the change, select OK to save.

Special Note: If your "Target" has quotations around it, make sure you put the command-line cheat outside of the quotations (as shown above). Cheat Engine, also known as CE, is a free software/open source for cheating in games using a hex memory searcher and editor to allow people to modify variables while programs are running. It is currently the most popular cheating software used. CE has influenced a lot of online games, as it is open source and can be modified to their needs. This program resembles Tsearch and ArtMoney. It searches for values input by the user with a wide variety of options such as "Unkown Initial Value" and "Decreased Value" scans. Cheat Engine is also a standalone trainer maker (trainers that function on their own without Cheat Engine).

Cheat Engine can also view the disassembled memory of a process and make alterations to give the user advantages such as infinite health, time or ammunition. It also has some direct3d manipulation tools, allowing you to see through walls, zoom in/out and with some advanced configuring allows you to let Cheat Engine move the mouse for you to get a certain texture into the center of the screen. Think here about the heads of people in a first person shooter.

The original Cheat Engine (created by DarkByte) is easily detected and blocked by most Anti-Cheating software like nProtect GameGuard. In order to bypass these protections, one must modify the original source code using Borland Delphi or other program source editors. This renames, but does not change, many of the functions in Cheat Engine thus allowing it to bypass the specific coding that Anti-Cheating software scouts for. Also, the insertion of external scripts and hooks are sometimes required..

Cheat Engine is primarily coded in Borland Delphi, however it uses C for its Kernel module. The Kernel module (dbk32.sys) is useful in that it allows hardware breakpoints to be set and also bypasses APIs hooked in Ring3 and even some in Ring0

The fact that a kernel driver is required for the more powerful features, means that only users with administrator privileges can use those functions.
