Hiding IP to Not Get Sued

    http://services.runescape.com/m=news/bot-busting-update-legal-proceedings
    --Jagex claiming to sue botters/goldfarmers

I currently run a small scale goldfarm on my personal computers but I'm looking to expand. I have the servers to run the bots but my main obstacle is how to hide my IP so Jagex has no chance of identifying me through it if they were to come after me. I am wondering if any one here has experience or specific ideas that would work best.

    My ideas so far:
-Proxies: In my experience too slow and unreliable for long term botting
-VPN: Keep records of your activity which could be accessed by courts
-VPS: Already have access to my own servers (fraction of VPS price)

    Other plans to avoid detection:
-Membership: Purchase untraceably (to me) by using GP to buy pins/"upgrades"
-RWT Payment: Paypal atm but if I do go big an offshore shell company and bank account aren't difficult to create

I'm probably a little too paranoid but better safe than sorry I guess

Any addition suggestions/discussion on how to avoid being detected would be appreciated, thanks in advance

That was 11months ago. It was all a scare tactic and a failed one at that, since you can't sue in every country where JaGeX issued this notice to(players) they were really setting themselves up to fail.

Thanks, so I guess VPNs could be a viable option

Still looking for ideas though if anyone has one

I am aware of several VPNs that claim to not keep logs; however, once the subpoenas start coming you can't be 100% certain of what info they might divulge.

Jagex threatening to sue botters/gold farmers was more of a bluff then anything.

Your own VPN hosted in your own VPS. The nearer the better.

You are not going to get sued for botting a video game....
No individual has been sued for botting.

Only the bot creators who use illegal methods to macro get sued.

'Judge! This child is using a bot to play our game! Send him to jail!'

I wouldn't worry about being sued by jagex. If they sued every botter/goldfarmer they would be overwhelmed. The most they will do is ban your accounts or wipe your mules.

You don't hear about Cls Product or Stokenut getting sued. I'm sure Jagex would have a pop-up every time we logged in saying "We sued ___ and we'll do the same to you!" if they did..

I would be extremely surprised if you were to be sued for botting. They will sue the developers of the bots themselves, not you.
