Login with Username or Email

I'm sure this applies to some other members around the forums,
but with my username i find myself having to copy and paste the
spade symbol (&#9824 to login with my username.
-- (Others may have to use other symbols or characters)

So i suggest allowing users to login with their email that they registered with.
For example, instead of me having to put in the spade character when logging in.
I could simply log into my sythe account with my email address and password.



Any support for this?

 

If and only if there's a vB mod for it for Sythe's version, I support.

Just as your case, I see many others with not common symbols, so it would facilitate their login

 

Simple, dont use symbols you dont know the alt code for..

This isn't a necessary suggestion, i just thought i would be a nice addition.
I am perfectly fine copy and pasting in my username symbols.

 

Two SIMPLE solutions:

1.) Don't use symbols in your name.
2.) Don't log out.

I think it'd be twice as easier to get your Sythe account hacked this way, therefore I give no support. Sorry.

 

There are not that many active members that have weird alt symbols in their username. Not to mention the majority of the people here just always stay logged in. This wouldn't really help that many people and would be too much work to set up. I have never been on a vB forum in my life where you could log in with your email, I would assume it would take a lot of work and that there is no current mod for it.

the only problem is is that you could probably make the username '[email protected]', so Email wouldnt work.

Just sayin':

It's a lot easier for you to just look up the ALT code than it is for a an admin to rewrite the login form.

 

Unnecessary. As others have already stated, find the ALT code and memorize it. Closed.
