2 WoW important questions?

These might be stupid questions but...

1) I have a WoW EU cd box thats been sitting on my table for the last few months, and I've decided to start, and play with a friend in the US. Is it possible to play on a US server using WoW EU?

2) If I decide to buy WoW US, there is an option to buy it digitally, which costs the same price as the retail version. I would prefer to buy it digitally cause the shipping would take 3 weeks, as I live far away from N. America. So my question is...how big is the digital game that I would have to download? (only the game, not the updates or patches)

1) I believe you can go into your Realmlist.wtf folder and change the settings to play on US servers. To do this, right click your WoW icon, click properties, click go to file location, click data, click enUS (or enEU), and click realmlist.wtf (Open it with notepad). Once there change every US value to EU. That's it I believe.

2) About 3 gigs.

no, you have the have a us key in order to have a eu account, yes u can change the realmlist to play on eu/us but the keys are different. u can try using the eu key on the us website, but i highly doubt it will work

you can buy the key off of the official blizzard websites or sites like these. the game with all the expansions and patches i believe is currently around 10gb's
