Graphics don't matter for any game, it's all about gameplay. Why is there such a big population in players on Counter Strike 1.6? It's because of gameplay, not graphics. Diablo II is one of the best games ever to be created, I haven't played it in a long time because I got out of gaming, and my account got deleted because of the stupid 90 day thing.

Although, a lot of players STILL mark/play/enjoy on gaming.

Like you said, CSS is purely on the gameplay/ and just the oldschool feeling..


I've only seen people play Diablo so I can only judge upon that.

Starcraft, Diablo II and Warcraft III are still very active in retro communities. Google it, and you will find people that play in a second or two.

 

I'm talking about 1.6, not Source.

I think it is really dead. There are some players who play it, but there arent mock of them.
There are a lot of better games than diablo.

 

if your a sucker for graphics thats sad your missing out on really good games

and they often DONT make it more enjoyable

 

It's crazy that the game lasted for so long and people are STILL playing it. Can't wait for diablo 3 though.

 

D2 is such a good game, graphics (for it's decade) and gameplay. it's a game you can play for 10hrs straight, and still feel as though you aren't bored. I loved it, but I hated it that I forgot my password, and when I had remembered it, my character was deleted.

 

God,i played d2 for many years and i still do,not online tho.
3 days from now on Wednesday 08.15.2010 blizzard is holding a conference for Gamescorp where they reveal new features of d3 and there are rumors that they might even release the game.
Can't wait for it,i already pre-ordered the game few months ago.

Most of the players that play it now are either completely new to the game (someone they know got them into it) or they are old players. I think it's dead. I will be playing Diablo 3
