search funktion sucks

excuse me but i think the search funktion on sythe.org sucks. on almost everything u search for it says that either word is to common or too long. and also why do you have to wait 30 seconds between searches? this is really annoying when u just wanna make an adjustment to your search and u have to wait 30 seconds.

 

I assume that the reason why the search function is like that is because they don't want us to overload the website with too many searches.

I agree, I think the search function is rather awkward to use.

 

And risk getting DDoS'ed even more?

It's specifically in place to protect the system from high load.

It used to be better, but search.php was used to flood the site many times and DDoS it, hence it was altered to prevent the DDoSing... It's not that bad for you, try searching for my name

 

Or searching for my name. It is annoying, but you just have to deal. D:

 

This works better than the forum search in some situations.
P.S. Who uses SafeSearch?

 

much easier to just use insite:sythe.org "TDD" or something similar

 

Or, you can just click on your name, then click 'Find all threads started by TDD' or 'Find all posts by TDD'.

But that doesn't display all threads in which I am mentioned, now does it?

search isn't bad, but i hate how half the words are too common or too short :S

 

The search function works fine for me. Never had a problem with it yet..

This is about the only really annoying thing with the search funtion, other then that I find the funtion to be working fine for me.
