    Depression

I had this problem, especially with my brother. Lived with him for 17 years so far. We barely talked, we'd be driving in a car together right next to each other and maybe only exchange a sentence or two. I eventually realized how stupid it was and I shouldn't be ignorant, absurd, shy, or empty towards my own brother. You can't wait for them to get the word in.

Start it on your own, start random conversations with your brothers or the rest of your family. Their family, they're not going to abandon you. Just speak up to your bro's, say something stupid, say whatever. Get closer. Be the positive hyped up kid. Eventually things will start running smooth and things will feel better.

Find something he/they enjoy research it and you can have conversations about. Once you have something in common you can talk and have fun discussions with eachother.

Family is only people you know for a long time.

Find friends, you don't have to make your family your friends.

    Depression

Depression is not being able to think of anything that would cheer you up. To truly have no desire to live life. If you could sit and think, "Even if I had a million dollars I still wouldn't want to do anything".

Just being sad or something is not nearly as bad as that. If you just want to get out and live on your own it's totally possible. It's something you can aim for and something to give you strength.

If you don't want to do anything then life feels completely hopeless and worthless.

I'm not trying to belittle being sad over anything else, like your love leaving you or a close family member dying. But I think if you can see light some where at the end of the tunnel you don't suffer from chronic depression.

    Depression

Depression is for the weak minded. It helps nothing, and everyone who claims to suffer from it is only doing it for the attention. I seem depressed at times, but it's just anxiety that I'm trying to sternly deal with.

Afterthought: There are some people who do suffer from depresion due to a mental disorder, not any problems in their life. It can also be caused by some prescription drugs.

    Depression

I believe that you are lacking intelligence, in general. People don't become depressed for attention. If you had half a mind, you'd actually be able to empathize with these people.

Depression isn't only caused by a "mental disorder". Have you ever lost a job, a loved one, or been in deep debt? If not, can you at least empathize with all of that happening at once? Do you think you would just be "sad"?

In all honesty, I can say that I've been depressed. I'm not going to go into what caused the depression, because that's my own personal life. I can say that I know how it feels. It's not for attention at all. If I wanted attention, I'm sure I could think of something to do besides sit in my room, in complete darkness, and not speak to anyone.

Do you need advice on how to handle the depression? Work out. Play with friends. Enjoy life really. As for getting along with your bros, what are there interested? sports? gaming? Try to do what they do.

Don't let depression get to you. I was depressed for a while and basically went to the emo scene because the screamo music and the riffs took my anger away from me. I never cut myself, as there would be no reason to get a disease by cutting yourself. I'd listen to rise against or something like sum 41, as they have great music choice and they helped me take out my anger easilly.

Go find something with Riboflavin, (vitamin b2). It naturally fights depression.

Things like, (ovaltine, Flinstone's complete vitamins, FRS Energy, etc.) all have Riboflavin.

    It works, trust me. ;)
