22 Jan 2009 - Sent $600 Payment via PayPal and Claim Cancelled
22 Jan 2009 - Will Identifies Issues with his PayPal Setup. Meaning even though I sent the money and claim cancelled, he is unable to collect funds from his PayPal due to identity proof.
22 Jan 2009 - Called PayPal to see if I could assist his collection of funds. Bottom line is he has to establish that he is who he is for PayPal.
23 Jan 2009 - Once again called PayPal to assist his collection efforts..
24 Jan 2009 - Received email from Will that he must submit paperwork to PayPal to show who he is. His email identifies it may be 3-days before he will be able to clear this up.

So as it stands - I have paid, claim cancelled and still do not have control of the account. The saga continues...

Lesson Learned - If you are using PayPal, please make sure you have established your account so this does not happen to other buyers like myself.

Still hoping he follows through, although I guess I can look at the bright side... He did give me a vouch! lol

As a final post.. I contacted PayPal to seek any additional info on how to cancel the funds.. They responded that not only did I already claim cancel, but the phone call I placed to assist in his problem helped him claim the funds. There is nothing they could do to help.

Funny how things work out.. I just had a msn message from someone who lives near Knott End Golf Club in Fleetwood. They know him and will be more than glad to assist. I will keep everyone updated on my progress.. I have the funds to track scammers down..

 

Comment to Moderators... I would like to raise to attention that there were posts removed from this thread that provided input to a possible scam. I assumed that due to these comments being removed by a mod, I could better trust the seller. Although the fault is all mine for trusting the seller, I feel that posts should not be removed in the future. Support is requested.

 

I would enjoy seeing the posts that were removed about this account being a scam and it's history. Anyone care to re-post please?

 

Your best bet to have them re-posted would be PM a global/admin for them, or a market mod, in this case.

Sadly, since you called, I don't think there's an electronic way to get your money back, as a last resort you could go to a different IP and say your paypal was stolen but it will probably look like a lie since you contacted them.

Good luck getting it back from the guy irl, however. Curious as to how this will work out.

 

Thanks.. In the coming weeks I will re-post the events that eventually allowed for the return of my funds.. There are some of us that are more than capable to seek out a scammer no matter where he lives..

Adam and I will work this out... He currently lacks an understanding of how far I am willing to travel to clear this up.
