Marijuana Vs. Alcohol

Yeah some countries, you can.

Anyway, this is a heated debate. I believe there is evidence that Marijuana is good in moderation.

Anyway, I'd like to hear your views still.

 

That's because Marijuana is harder to obtain, illegal, and therefore is present in so many less situations. It is still a major hazard to have used/use when driving as it changes the way that you think/your perception and you won't think and drive as you normally would.

I do agree that it causes less damage and less deaths than Alcohol but that's because your average person is careless and can't consume alcohol responsibly. I must say that while I don't mind Marijuana being used by people, it should stay illegal because I don't think there is an age requirement that could be set for it and the same could be said for alcohol. Everyone is different and as such matures and ages differently. One 21 year old might have a few drinks and have a great time while another will go drive and kill four people. Although unrealistic to implement, I think an appropriate solution would be obtaining a license to consume either one based on some form of testing that grades your maturity and how you handle yourself when under the influence of either one.

I disagree with this because if it's consumed moderately alcohol usually shouldn't cause you to get disruptive or violent. Also, I have a friend who consumes marijuana 2-3 times daily and because of this he is always on edge. He will often criticize others heavily and he can snap any second and people know that and fear him for it. This has been caused by his heavy constant use of marijuana that makes him oppose just about everything.

My friend showed me this site the other day. The basic point of the site is saying that Alcohol is more harmful than Weed.

Alcohol and Weed both have negative effects, thus, making them both bad.

As for the question, "Should Weed be legalizied?", yes, I think it should. But there should be a limit on how much you can use and at what age you can use it.

in general alcohol has a more negative effect on the body and mind then bush canabis does, also there is pretty much no way you can die from canabis in the short term. however when people start adding shit (chemicals, lacing etc) to weed it changes things.

Im no governemnt conspiracy kinda person but i doubt they will legalise marijuana in western countries. Its a matter of $$$, most alcohol is sold at bottle shops, pubs etc and in my country goverment gets about 2/3 of the sale in taxes.

governments get nothing for legalising weed except alot more high people walking around.

 

OK from experice! if marajuana was made legal then there would be more people using it than alcohol i would expect and when you are high you know what you can and cant do, when you drink you think you are the highest and best person in the world and can do anything.

Also for the people who said alcohol is more long term affects than marajuana is dumb. smoking one joint or a couple bowls is equivilent to smoking 5 packs of ciggarettes so is obvously worse than alcohol (wich is not in any way my side of this debate) all and all WOO GOO MARAJUANA!

 

Also! marajuana and alcohol are BOTH drugs, you just dont hear alcohol being called a drug.

 

Marijuana causes more permanent damage, and is equally responsible for accidents, it also costs a lot more, and the government cannot tax it. So the government makes it illegal, because they wont make money

 

Mari isn't that bad to be honest, Iv'e done it. Just don't do it everyday or you'll end up with a wheelchair....

Alcho isn't bad either, it still fucks you up, especailly when your younge. So i don't think any non adults should be drinking frequently

marjuana ftw! it poses much less long term damage, Alcohol on the other hand kills braincells and of course many people die from car crashes cos of it.

 

Loads more people die from alcohol related car accidents rather than marijuana.

Make it legal its better for you and isnt addictive, no it isnt additive its the tobbaco that people smoke it with thats addictive

 

The chemicals that are added make cigarettes addictive... If marijuana is legalized it will happen the same way!!!

 

Chemicals wouldn't necessarily be added to marijuana if it was legalized..
