What are the things you can get addicted to, how can you get addicted to them, and how do you stop an addiction?

    Addiction

I could never get addicted to RuneScape. Just play when I can't hang out with my friends or do anything else fun. RuneScape isn't easy to get addicted to. Only geeks who don't have a life are addicted to RuneScape. But the thing most people get addicted to without even realizing is drugs.

You can get addicted to anything you like a lot. An addiction is just putting something above everything else in order to continue doing that something.

As dpunk said, you can literally get addicted to anything. It usually happens when a certain behavior activates the reward center in the brain. The brain makes the connection between the activity and the behavior, and begins to demand it more and more.

To break it? Willpower, and often, medical help/counseling.

You can get addicted to anything you really like.
Food, games, drugs, activities, people, etc.

    Addiction

LoL I am to, but iv proved to myself i can stop i went a year without drinking it now im back (its not a relapse I chose to come back as its not unhealthy except the first week or two of drinking 1-4 quarts a day (I add 60% more mix then I'm supposed to each batch) can give you insomnia for a while)

To break an addiction one must replace it with another thing and i never drink more then 2 quarts of iced tea a day because im very lazy and hate making it.

To the guy above me thats brave of you to post that as peopel below will flame you like crazy I have been severely depressed before but i could never cut my wrist (its not the pain i hate even getting small cuts on my wrist but I don't mind these gashing scars on my legs from skateboarding/cat scratching me.

Wrong. Getting addicted to something does not mean putting it above everything else. Normally It's when someone uses a coping skill and become dependent on that something they use.

Example: A mom becomes a workaholic.
Reason: To keep her mind off things she cannot control or other unresolved issues. Does not mean she doesn't love her kids and she almost without a doubt puts her kids above it. Its just s distraction to keep your mind off reality.

there a lot of things to get addicted to, the answer is to simply force urself not to do it or not to do it in the first place. Im never going to do drugs for instance, our school has scary health class vids =p

You can get addicted to anything you like... Generally addiction is when you let something you really like to do on your spare time take over every else... This mostly hapen on video games. To break oout from it I would consider putting it out from your sight.
