[1 Billion GP Prize] Sythe Gaming League Tournament 1! [Tankball 2] [Game 1/3]

If this tournament does not pick up traction soon, it's being nuked in favor of something smaller and much more exclusive. AKA if you haven't been responsive in this tournament you won't be eligible for the exclusive one.

Which means goodbye for a huge chance of winning 1 bil.

I have to express my disappointment in pretty much 80 percent of the contestants in this league. I realized from the beginning that my league format was probably too ambitious, but I figured the giant prize pool would help alleviate those gaudy ambitions. I wanted to enforce the 7 day elimination rule, but why bother when literally 5 percent of the bracket is actively participating? Or at least TRYING to communicate to me they are trying to play their matches. Like I said, unacceptable. All of the people that have been inactive on this thread yet active on Sythe have been PMED NUMEROUS times by me and don't even bother to reply. So if the respect is not going to be mutual, I do not know why I'm doing this at all.

I apologize to the people that have been communicative and participating. Like I said, I realize everyone is busy but this is literally a 5-10 minute game in which you were all given ample time to play, even for the most busy of students, workers, whatever. In hindsight, Hamouze was right, I never should have let newcomers enter. Why? Well they find this thread and join it or even register onto the site to join it, and then forget about it or lose interest. That has been a key cog in the inactivity of this tournament. It started out very promising with people doing their 1v1s, but now I'm seeing that this is taking far too long.

The solution? I honestly do not know. Unless tournament activity significantly picks up, and I mean significantly, this whole Sythe Gaming League will be scrapped. I will have to go back to the drawing board and try to formulate a quicker + better option to disperse GP rewards. Ultimately I want to reward the community and give back to it, but I don't see the point if 80 percent of people aren't going to even lift a finger to get this tournament progressing.

That is all. I am incredibly disappointed my Gaming League idea has basically gone to hell.

 

If it has to come to that, I'm all for scrapping the league and starting with a smaller, more active group. It's kind of annoying since i was in the 4th round in this tournament, but I'd rather start fresh and have a fun tournament than wait a few weeks for this one to move forward at all.

If another tournament does happen sometime in the future, let me know. Otherwise, I really hope this one picks up soon.

 

Just do multiple smaller tournaments with the prize money split between them like I said on skype, being ruthless with the 7 day limit or kicked to keep it trucking

 

Agreed. Smaller, quicker tournaments with like 100M pots would probably go a lot smoother.

 

Wasn't active for the start of this but will be interested in future ones.

I am actively on sythe and constantly browsing this thread, but I personally just disliked the timeframe(honest opinion).

I really hope this tourny works out though, the simple fact is, Alot of people cant or forget etc about a tourny that is projected to take 1-2 months :C.

 

Yeah it's looking like this is gonna be closed and I'll do smaller tournaments instead.

 

I have been incredibly busy with school and other real life priorities. I'm going to go ahead and withdraw from the gaming league for now. I just am not able to play many games at all with the lack of free time. I'm kinda bummed at the timing of all this because I felt this would be a really cool thing to be a part of, but school sucks so :/

 

Nothing to withdraw from really. The league is officially closed at the moment. Requesting this thread closed to go back to the drawing board. The 1 billion will be given out somehow, but not this way. Not a league where next to nobody can or will participate. To people that have been active, once again, I am sorry. But the people that didn't even speak to me about it won't be allowed in later tournaments, I probably won't even have a sign-up thread, just invite people who I know will participate / who tried to participate in this (doesn't necessarily mean you had to have played a game, communication would have been enough so people like Lean, Jack, Dave, Stopsign, etc etc would be allowed to play).

But this is officially being nuked. This format is too long, cumbersome, and probably in the worst part of the year ( I strongly believe this would have worked in the Summer).
