Runescape + real job to fund RS?

No offence, but I'd rather spend my $$ on virtual currency or virtual items then wasting it on "booz, weed and goin to tha ma'phukkin club to bang bitchez", for example.

Then again, I don't do that nor do I buy virtual items/currency

Who the heck is such a loser to spend their real money in runescape gold, like come on mate. It's a virtual game in which you kill monkeys and guards, go spend your money with a girlfriend or just save.

For me, buying gold used to be an addiction, i know for a fact i'v spent over 1,000.00 in gold on my little over a year being on sythe and its sad to say because it's only virtual money, and yeah i could justify buying a little here and there but i was buying hundreds of mill when they were like .65/m and i didnt even have a job sadly

But if i got a job i don't think i would bother wasting my money anymore on gold as the game to me is dead, and i just have a skiller to have fun on and help a clan.

 

Funding wise, pretty much just membership(even then I prefer to pay in gp if I have spare at the time).

 

I totally get you, pick up an extra hour of work and it would beat the best money making strategy on this game, even if you work minimum wage.

I would hardly believe you make more profit merchanting RSGP than working in real life. Not to mention that in real life you gain experience and can progress & get higher incomes. RuneScape is a shit game and is also aproaching to an end so good luck with this

 

Thanks for reaffirming you did NOT read my original post. I never said you make more profit merchanting RS GP. I said working a real job and spending a small portion of it gives you more than grinding gp in the actual game, to save TIME and gain valuable work experience.

Exactly, the thing that bothered me about the other guys post is that he assumed I blew all my money on Runescape gold.

In the year I've worked, I've probably bought 1 billion and sold 3 times that after staking..so even I made a profit doing it.

That potential for profit would have NEVER been possible if I tried earning the money myself..because it's not really possible to do without a lot of risk. Obviously possible profit is a risk..but most people just want fast levels, and buying gold with a small portion of your paycheck can make it possible.

 

That's what I'm doing right now.

Since I'm buying gold with my the money I earn and not actually grinding to get the money, I can train with the best exp rates out there and still be efficient.

 

i think most of the ppl just need a balance. ppl are not working 27/4 on their rl job, rs mostly is their free time activity, and why not gain a lil of extra $ while you "play"?

I just dont understand how people actually spends their incomes (or their savings) in RuneScape gold >_< I know you might say that because you can make some profit, but you can just save or invest in the stock of some company and I would guarantee you will make more profit than with RuneScape.

@OP I host to fund my RS budget. But currently it's very small as I don't play anymore apart from hosting.

 

I was in a bad mood too my friend....I apologize. I got stuck working back to back to back nights in a row which made me have to stay well after finals week had ended. So while the dorms and apartments cleared out, I was stuck here :sick: .

I'm basically saying that, while many do frown upon buying RS gold as it is just fake money, if you're going to get gold, you might as well get a job + buy some to avoid grinding in RS. I also said it's a decent investment versus like a console game for example..because chances are high you can get a return on your gold buy..probably NOT a profit but still a return nonetheless.

But I was being an ass, I apologize. My job requires me to work long hours, most of the times I pull all-nighters and can be quite irritable. My bad dude.

To each his own, I thought buying gold was stupid too until I did it. Now I don't need to grind for gold and I don't need to buy any more gold either. So I'm content I did.

 

I feel very similar to be honest, yes video games aren't great for us health wise etc but going and doing things that are not beneficial nor good for us e.g drugs and getting into confrontations because of them is much worse.
