Removing a RAT that is crypted is no different then removing one that isn't. You just have to find where you need to delete it.

Well, I have never gotten a RAT. People have tried too numbers of times because I was rich when free trade just came out, but it's pretty obvious. I can only see people who have no clue what it is, or just aren't thinking at the time getting ratted.

Shaking my head. This forum is full of idiots, I swear. So many people on sythe claim to be computer programmers, technicians, et cetera, and yet, a thread on RAT's is made, and it gets this many replies? HOLY FUCK. On any half decent forum for ANYTHING pertaining to a computer, everyone has knowledge of hacking or at least the fucking brain to know not to accept random ass files? JESUS. /end ragequit

Okay, now for those of you who are genuinely ignorant, and still don't understand WTF is going on, please continue reading. Take this advice from me, I used to hack myself, and I am lucky as fuck, because I tested the waters like a BITCH, and the only consequence I recieved was a mental backhand from my father (who, by the way I might add, is a fricking genius as well.) Now I could sit here and tell everyone a fucking monologue about my life, how I evolved as a person, my morals, values, my dad's experience with hacking, Drink or Die, UCLA's chief administration department, but honestly, I don't think anyone on this thread has even read this far. SO:

    RAT's CAN:

Gain complete access to and control of your computer. /Enough said

    RAT's CAN be spread BY:

Every file format there is, so NO a text file from your buddy isn't necessarily 100% safe from anything, as you dweebs like to say.

    Okay and LASTLY!:

HOW TO BE SAFE FROM A RAT: (in order of effectiveness)

    1. Don't accept ANY file lightly.
    2. Have an antivirus, (seriously kids on HF and other hacking communities are RETARDED and POOR as FUCK.) in other words, they can't afford a decent tool, or can't make their own, so they use a free version. Free versions are NEVER FUD (Fully Un-Detecable, btw.) I had those moments where I would test waters of other hackers and shmucks by means of downloading there software live on TeamViewer, and acting retarded, saying it wouldn't open. If you are poor as well, please just upgrade Windows' Anti Virus-It's free, and it will never have a problem picking up just about anything, paid for or not, considered FUD or not. If you for some reason can't do this or don't think it's enough, or you are simply a Mac User, just use Avast. (http://www.avast.com)
    3. Just don't get on "This" side of youtube, or do anything someone shady seems to be doing. Honestly, anyone who posts a hack on YouTube or a video with runescape cheating or cheating for anything for that matter, is just a fail spreader, mass spreading to YouTube. Even when they are legit cheating tools/legit hacking tools, the kids will infect the file with there virus, and you'll be fucked both ways TBH.
    4. Please, just use your brain, I'm athiest, so I don't normally EVER say this kind of garbage, BUT, GOD GAVE IT TO YOU FOR A FUCKING REASON BRO.

Okay that was a FUCKING MOUTHFULL, if you read this far, thank you, I've spent probably fucking 30 minutes typing this, as I have been doing other shit during this time.

QCC? (Questions, Comments, Concerns) Just PM me, or uh add me on skype, I can give you my name via PM.

    /Thread.

Process X doesn't know what your talking about, theres a way how you can make it look like a notepad.

    > Make the server, bind it with a notepad file.

    > Change the icon to the notepad icon

    > Crypt it obviously

    > File extension spoof to .txt

    > ???

    > Profit

    Your dumb as fuck.

    Not very well.

Actually, the only 2 file extensions I've seen a RAT spread by is .exe and .pdf, because they are both executables, and can run without you closing it. You sure know what your talking about, don't you?

And how did you come up with that theory? I'd love you to make a crypter FUD with no dependancys.

Yep, Riven Crypter definitely isn't free and it isn't FUD. -.-

Dont listen to this stupid kid, FUD means FUD, windows AV is one of the most shittest anyway. If there's one AV you can count on, its MalwareBytes.

And for whitehat reason's I'll tell you how to remove a RAT if you think your infected, and how to spot a RAT, without listening the fucktards like the above.

    ============================

Firstly, you want to open task manager. You won't be able to see the RAT in most cases in your processes, because its usually on startup in HKLM, and its hidden. So I want you to close all ram/cpu eating procceses and go to your performance tab.

In most cases, if you haven't got a RAT, your cpu will be below 10, and ram just above how much your graphics card eats.

next, I want you to click the view dropdown tab and click select column's. Check PID and click okay.

    Run cmd (windows button + r > cmd.exe)

    type netstat -o

Now, check all of your processes, if one PID doesn't show up on your processes, your most likely infected.

As soon as you find that out, delete your cookies, and leave it. In most cases you have been infected by a skid and they don't know what they are doing.

Google Malwarebytez, and download and install it.

Turn pc off and boot it in safe mode with networking, this means you can still access the internet.

Update your malwarebytez database, and run a quick scan.

    Remove viruses.

    Win.

inb4bigpost, sorry mods, but this will save many people.

    Most RATs block task manager.

If you want to stop a RAT manually, go to 'run' and type 'msconfig.exe'.
Then you go to the start-up tab.
If you're there, look for something like 'MSACUI.exe'.
    Remove it from start-up list.
(If you did that ^ it doesn't mean you're done.
You still have to remove the RAT from you comp, so download MalwareBytes like everyone seuggests.)
This way you stop a RAT from starting up when your computer does, which leads to it not being able to connect to you.
That means it can't control your computer anymore.

    OT;
    Very nice guide.
    Covers most information about RATs.
You could maybe add something about crypters? ;O
    Just a suggestion :)

Sweet guide, though was wondering is there a way to tell a file is a RAT. Say a picture ".png, .jpg, etc" file is a RAT?

    Full of fail.

Malwarebytez doesn't detect a java-driveby, windows essentials, and avast do. Pull your head out of your ass, please. You sir, are fucking idiotic.

An mp3 file is executable. I don't know many file types that idiots use, that aren't. You moron. You have only seen a rat spread that way, because you don't hack. Once again, grow a brain.

Definitely one of the stupidest things you can do if you want to save your computer. If your ratted, you're more than likely already a zombie on a bot-net. RAT's are completely in access of you, when manufactured correctly.

You obviously don't know much, so I'll enlighten you on a fact.

There was a problem in America a couple of years back, in which a RAT was mass spread, and it proceeded to spin the user's hard drive out of control, until it scratched itself to death.

Real RAT's compromise at the hardware level, and often aren't removable unless you destroy your computer. This is however not held true with you and others on here, because you use fail shitty free-ware like black shades.

Go back to HackForums, or pull your head out of your ass before you post garbage like this.

Yes, but only because mac's make up no portion of the internet community anymore.

If Macintosh computers occupied more than Windows based stuff did, they would be the main target.

You can still get anything on a mac, you can on a PC. They are just executed in your file system in a different manner.

Contrary to popular belief, Macs aren't "Invincible" from problems, especially viruses.
