all these sythe getting hacked alerts.

The data base has been hacked once...
The only reason peoples msn's have been hacked is because they use the same password as their Sythe account.
The simple thin to do is use different passwords, which everyone should anyway.
It was also all sorted by a simple password change.

They Database has been fixed and is safe again now, so you have no reason to worry.

It's people's MSN's that have been hacked. There was a way to to some how "hack" their e-mail, then the hacker could scam people over MSN. Just do a few things:

    • Double check you added the right MSN
    • Make sure you PM the buyer/seller, and make sure it's them
    • Take pictures/a video of the trade(s)

It was never 100% proven that the Sythe database was hacked or compromised, however that doesn't mean you shouldn't take every precaution and change your passwords and such. It's honestly not worth leaving the site over. Do trades safe and record proof and such and you should be fine.

Its pretty easy to stay secure, just change your passwords every now and again and make sure they are secure passwords.

And no need to worry. I am sure the Staff of Sythe handled the situation very well.

They spent hours working on it.

all these sythe getting hacked alerts.

Use different passwords for everything and just keep them in a spiral in your room somewhere. If you're a gold seller, and have a website, you shouldn't have identical passwords on that either. Your site may get hacked, in turn having your Sythe account hacked.

And even though it was never proven that the database was taken; the matter of the fact is they are retrieved easy these days, and most likely not always released to the public. There is no way to be 100% sure that you are safe.

The best thing you can do is use different passwords everywhere.
