Kim Jong Il dead; what's next for North Korea?

I'm sure some people are still living, who were born before the likes of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il came into power. They would know that the country's former leaders were not gods, and that the government is trying to brainwash them. However, they may not be able to do anything about it due to the overwhelming majority of people in the country thinking otherwise.

 

True, true but he did become prime minister in 1948. The point I'm trying to make is that not everyone is just fake crying and that the majority of people are in fact really crying because that country is so messed up.

The new regime will most certainly be different. There's not the same level of arrogance there... you can see it.

In my opinion, there's two options for North Korea... dismantling of their military which would undo their state, and to be absorbed by China.

China would never allow a re-unionization with SK as that would give the U.S. a border with China... far too risky.

The other option is war. However, UN policy is you cannot declare war for land and such. It'd be nice if they defected to the U.S. and gave us a nice new island to modernize!

 

Meh. They are just going to maintain power through their military. Its going to take internal government strife to cause any sort of change. As long as they remain solid looking on the outside, nothing will change very quickly at all. Some experts say it may even get worse under what the new rulers name is.

 

There's already strife. As if this kid can honestly live up to his father's name... I mean... he isn't a god to them. They'll respect him because of his lineage... but now NK faces some serious times. They go from the greatest leader of all time for them, to what they revere as a God... to somebody that nobody really knows anything about.

I heard that his son is even more nuts than he is. Apparently Kim Jong-Un wanted to go to war with South Korea in 2010, but his father was against it.

Anyways, it's possible that given their unique status, poverty-stricken and hungry, North Korea will try and use military force to change this.

 

They already have done this once and are now in the third generation of rulers. If they did it once and managed to convince them to worship a second ruler, they can do it for a third. But really we are not going to know much for awhile as they need to keep up stability for the funeral and the aftermath or shit would roll.

 

Yeah, but now we have internet. If North Korea falls for it a third time when there is SO much circulation... well... they deserve to be removed. Such ignorance of a nation is despicable. /coughcough.

It pretty much depends on the supporters of the communists. How strong are they? How many people do they have? And obviously, China will be the first to support communist countries.

 

His son is crazy, i bet we will see alot about NK on the news this year.

 

His son will be taking over, and from what the media portrays of him, he is one crazy son of a bitch.
