How to check profit/loss from 'x' level - 'y' level

Aiming for a level? Want to check how much you will make/how much it will cost you?
Follow a couple of easy steps.

    1. How many do you need to make?

Click the skill you are training.

Enter either your runescape name into the designated box, or your skill xp into the other designated box. Then add your desired level/xp into the designated box (Please remember to select XP if you want XP, it will be level as default).
In the 'Number' column in the calculator it will tell you the number of your selected item that you need to create.

    2. How much will the materials cost?

Search your items needed in the highlighted search box.

Note down the current prices of all materials.

Search for the item you are creating and note down the price.

    3. Calculating profit/loss.

Simply take your costs and add them up.

For example, Guam potion (Unf) (362gp) + Eye of newt (11gp) = 373gp.

Now we need to subtract the cost of materials from the resulting item.

    For example, Attack potion (3) (165gp) - 373gp = -208gp.

Now you have the results on whether you will make a profit or a loss.

    4. Calculating overall profit/loss.

Just as simple as before, we need to multiply our profit/loss by the number of items needed for the level you are aiming for.

For example, If i need to make 365 Attack potion (3) to get my level then, -208gp x 365gp = -75920gp (-76k gp).

    Notes.
All prices used in examples in this guide, were correct at the time of writing the guide.
Alternatively to using Tip.it you can use RuneHQ for the calculators.
Alternatively to using Online Grand Exchange you can use the in-game one.

Nice IBD, but its good for people to have a method where you need to do all the leg work themselves, atleast the method i posted is pretty much guaranteed to be updated with new items + the 2 new skills to be released this year.

Guide seems pretty much like common sense, I guess it'll be helpful to link people asking for calculations here though!

Yeah, thats the reason i made it, we had like a couple days where the RS discussion forum was flooded with questions asking for people to tell them how long and how much a certain skill would take :).
