So , i've had my old main since 2004 and it was owned by me and my buddy (real life). My buddy had quit runescape for the last 7 years and I had taken ownership of the account.

I still talk to my bud and he doesn't even remember the username, and doesn't even care as he's going for a bachelor of honour in history.

What's the cache? Somehow my account got locked 2-3 days ago and had it's email removed.

I tried manually recovering, new every single bit of information and the recovery got deleted for no reason






I contact jagex support Explaining every single information in the situation and according to them, "the account was returned to it's original owner" and they won't respond to any more emails regarding the account.


Even though the 2 original owners (me and my bud) aren't in current possession of the account.

They also refused to lock the account for manual recovery.


800m in eocgp/rarename/osgp lost.

My fucking luck with this game.

Sorry for your loss, don't give up though its probably someone targeting you in an account recovery. 7 years should be long enough for you to be able to recover the account. Try tweeting them and sending a ticket on their site.

 

I had the same problem on my main account, and the 32th appeal was successful, you just need to give some payment details and previous passwords and location of the creation

 

I have had exactly the same situation. I was sharing with a clan member and I let him have possession of the email to the account as I was playing on and off. I came back wanting to play but he has since quit apparently and I haven't been able to get in contact with him. Made about 7-8 attempts to no avail. Get the same generic reply you got.

 

i already gave them everything and the account was declined for no reason.
now the hacker registered an email and jagex doesn't want to reply to my message center messages.

I'll probably try tweeting some jmods but i'm not expecting to recover it as the chances seem low even though it's my own account.

Messages don't come to message centre no more. When you type the email in, they send the ticket response to that email.

 

i know, i just refer the tickets or w/e the fuck they are as messages

 

Similar situation with me, except I was the original account creator and had given the account to a very good friend. This was many, many, many years ago. He had then quit and forgotten the password. I tried recovering it with no success. Tried again a couple more times then gave up.

It's weird how the system works unfortunately.

Edit: I actually just tried recovering my account again, however there's an email registered to the account which is not mine. It won't let me proceed without the valid email address.

Is there a way around this? As I won't be able to retrieve the email address registered on the account.

 

Have a read of the account recovery section. Send in a ticket.

 

i did and it stated specifically to fill in as much info on the account as possible without passes and credit card numbers.

I added the authenticator pin of the time, my jag questions/answers, breational details, previous usernames ip's etc.

nothing. jagex just stated that according to them it has been returned to the original owner (when i'm the original owner).

I'm not too fussed about the maxed main as i dislike rs3, but the fact that i was using it as a mule for my eoc/07 gp is annoying

 

Keep pressing on and contact them on their support twitter. All you need is a second opinion and set of eyes. I've had this issue before and I've been able to resolve it.

Jagex is just like a pile of shit in a room. Nobody likes it and Nobody wants to do anything about it. It's impossible to get through there thick skull that they are fucking ruining their own game and banning players innocently. Jagex is dead to me.

You're 1000 percent sure your buddy didn't recover it?

How else do you think you could have possibly been compromised? You're pretty smart so I'm doubting it was a keylogger or phishing type scam.

Are you positive someone else is on it ? Like is it gaining XP and what not?

 

not gaining xp, and never online as i've been checking off my osrs main.
Haven't even seen it logged in once.
I'm not keylogged, and never got phishing emails. Even if i did i had authenticator+jag .
To get an email deleted isn't hard and an account locked, as one can simply message jagex that they got hacked.
To convince jmods that the account is theirs when they dont know jag answers/recoveries/billing info and have a different ip whilst trying to recover just blew my fucking mind

And no, it wasn't my buddy because i've known him for years, and he's the type of person to not give a fuck literally. if he would have done so he would have just told me.



For me, currently it looks like my account is frozen.
No one can log on it
No one can recover it (apart from the hacker)
Jagex has black listed my log in name from message center so they ignore any other messages so no one can get the account re-locked for reporting it's hacked.

 

Contact jagex over twitter @JagexSupport, tell them and explain them the situation, gl getting it back i don't see why they deny it if you are the original (or well,your buddy) owner.
