Reason: Rigging contest voting to cheat me out of a rare minirank that was rightfully going to be mine. Because I'm a nice guy, I agreed over Skype to tie him because I knew he wouldn't stop asking for votes. Just before the poll closed and Rich awarded the minirank, he went back on his word and gained an extra vote. It's basically scamming upwards of $40 as that's what the Not Sure Fry minirank is worth (Jess offered me $40 for it when I was ahead by like a dozen votes).

Afterwards, he tried to pay me off with PayPal. I just wanted my first real minirank that I got 25+ legitimate votes for to his 2. I've heard vaguely of multiple times he's lied or deceived people to get what he wants, and I think he warrants a TWC at the very least.

Proof of both of us agreeing to tie
Him clearly stating he won't surpass me in votes
He surpasses me in votes.
Offers to pay me off and admits to asking for the final votes

Sounds to me like this situation is trying to be made more than it actually is. Either way please post all of the pms between you two.

 

In response to Quatakai and to johng's offensive post, going back on a gentleman's agreement worth $40 at the very least is no small issue. People get TWC'd for stuff like "seeming suspicious." I'm requesting a TWC for your dishonestly, not for requesting a tie. If I asked everyone I knew to vote for me, I'd have blown you away by a solid two dozen votes because my picture wasn't a piece of trash drawn up in Paint in five minutes. But I didn't do that because we came to an agreement, which you broke.

And once you won, what did you say? "Hey b1k r1ch, Smurfin and I agreed to tie, so don't give me the minirank yet because he was ahead by 5 at this time yesterday"? "Well, Smurfin and I agreed to tie and I screwed it up, so we should both win"?





Okay, buddy. The more you call me dishonest, the worse you make yourself look. I challenge you to find one person on Sythe who agrees that I'm dishonest (without you asking them privately to side with you this time, kthx).

After looking over the proof provided JohnG's actions aren't deserving of a TWC. You both took this competition (something meant for fun) way to seriously when you began asking your customers to vote for you, blowing away everyone else out of the water. Which doesn't break Sythes rule regarding competitions http://www.sythe.org/sand-box/1605316-regarding-competitions-buying-votes.html but takes the fun / fairness out of it.

Unless anyone objects, I'd be happy with the removal of JohnG's Fry rank, and a warning to both Smurfin + JohnnG regarding asking there customers to vote for them during competitions.

 

Well, I could pull a "he started it and I only got like 8 extra voters total from asking," but I won't. It's honestly not that big of a deal; I agree with him not getting a TWC for this and don't want to argue that he should lose the minirank - he won the competition, albeit not as planned.
