    What's your view of Belgium?

    Hi there,
    go a little question for people around the whole world :D
    How do u guys view belgium?
    serious answers please not like "waffles"
    why do u guys compare belgium with waffles btw??

    Some random facts:

    We pay with € (Europe, 1USD = 0.73EUR)

    Size:
    30,528 km2
    11,787 sq mi
    (Our country fits around 320Times in the USA)

    People:
    11,007,020
    (Our citizens would fit around 28.5times in the USA (we are crowded))

    Our main languages are:
    Dutch (60%)
    French (40%)
    German (1%)

    Around 99% of our roads has street lights
    (If you would be standing on the moon and U could see
    Belgium, you would see it as a white dot, Because our street lights.)

    We are the only country without a goverment and we have broken
    the 'record' for being the country without a govement for +-520 Days

    We have a King, Not a President.

    For the smokers,
    We pay around $7 for a pack of cigarettes (28pieces)
    and $6.5 for 50gr of tobacco+rolling papers (+-100pieces)
    For the weed smokers ; )
    $13.54 for 1.2Gr for GOOD weed around $13.54 for 1.5-2gr of bad quality weed.

    Language:
    Our main language is dutch, for the rs players go to world 56 varrock bank
    And U will know how it sounds :D
    Dutch is a very hard/complicated language to learn, but it sounds nice
    although if U would learn dutch, U probaly wouldn't understand 50%
    because of our many dialects.

    A randoms sentence transalation :D
    Kangaroo008 goes on sythe every day, and likes it very much.
    kangaroo008 gaat elke dag op sythe, en vind het zeer leuk. :D

    What's your view of Belgium?

    Lenient soft drug usage prosecution, Reduced restrictions on withholding euthanasia, Same-sex marriage legalized, active diplomacy in Africa and opposition to the war in iraq. Belgium is a very politically sound country. :)

    I've always wanted to see Bruges, i hope to do so before the end of my youth.

    What's your view of Belgium?

    I prefer Holland. But Belgium has nice mountains, that's the only thing I really miss in Holland..
    What I really do hate about Belgium is that the country is split up in two parts, one where they speak Dutch and one where the main language is French. These sides basically hate each others guts.. That's not a country, that's two countries..

    I LOVE how you guys celebrated your record for being the country with the longest time without a government. That's just awesome. Other than that, when you say 'Wablief' I just crack up, it sounds funny xD

    What's your view of Belgium?

    I picture it as a wet and utterly peaceful Australia. Though the triple language system weirds me out. How does an entire country learn how to speak English, Dutch, French and possibly German.

    What's your view of Belgium?

    I personally live in The Netherlands. I have been to Belgium a couple times and I like the accent of the people lol, even though it's hard to get used to. I think most people recognize Belgium as a waffle land because the waffles are pretty epic. You made a couple mistakes in this topic, you said that 1 euro is 0,73 dollar but that's not correct, 1 euro is approximately 1,35 dollar so it's worth around 35% more. Another Dutch spelling mistake in the post.. but I can forgive you :)

    What's your view of Belgium?

    @RunescapeJJ used a online program for USD - EUR so it's prob not updated my fault :p

    @surround sound
    It's not like everyone speaks french/dutch/german
    I only speak dutch, (ofc english to)
    And we learn french in our school, but I suck at it :p

    @Quackism
    I have to admit I can't really stand the french people in our country
    Wablief :p I usually say "wa"
    wablief is like the proper way to tell it, we have to use it at school
    when we haven't heard something
    like , 'what did u say?'

    @Mephistopheles
    :D I didn't knew they where from belgium
    i've just started listening dubstep/DnB like a week ago
    Altough I like metal more \m/ :D

    @cronos
    U seem to know alot about belgium :p
    Btw GL getting to Brugges some day :D

    @bambino
    The medical section is very good here
    and about the arabic people
    there's no way they gonna learn people arabic here
    They sent the arabic people to Belgium during WWI/WWII
    but they never expected that they would stay here
    Most people are against Arabic's here.

    and about the chocolate, It's true the chocolate here is very good
    there's like a chocolate store 5mins away from my house,
    and in every store here you can buy it :D
    and the french fries,
    I love them :D
    and they are invited in belgium
    Most family's eat it atleast once a week.

    Let's wait for some more answers :D

    What's your view of Belgium?

    What happens when you go into the city and encounter French/German people? Do you converse in English or do you just not talk! Also, do you speak dutch or english at home, school, work, shops etc?

    I suck at French too, don't you worry!

    What's your view of Belgium?

    Thats actually 101%. Sorry to say so!
    And as I'm personally from Belgium, I don't think my comment has alot of sense.
    I think we need a good government by now, stop the money and visums for all people arriving here, and do something about our huge dept.

    What's your view of Belgium?

    I speak dutch @ school/work/home cause I live in the Dutch side of our country :D

    And well, it's not like there are german/french/dutch people every where.
    there like a (imaginary) language border, so if I walk to a shop there's like
    0.01% that I will see someone french/german and then there's like 0.0001% chance I will talk to them :p

    BUMP

    Most of the fact's that you've provided on the OP I didn't even know,
    Before Belgium was just place that was just sitting on the other side of the world that never crossed my mind, and now I wouldn't mind visiting Belgium like Amsterdam or England.
