I remember buying membership so that I could wear boots (didn't know about leather) or when I did animal magnetism because I thought the "backpack" would give me extra inventory slots...

 

Chopping trees and lost my axe head, couldn't afford another rune axe

 

used to change myself to a girl and try to get a rich boyfriend lol... how i got my first whip :nuts:

 

i remember buying my first full rune, took me two weeks for 200k lol

 

I remember killing the goblins in Lumbridge hoping to get a Goblin Mail drop, so i could sell it to the general store.

 

my first pking account was supposed to be a low level f2p magic pure but I trained strength on it because I thought it would make my spells hit harder.

basically going from the varrock mine with 14 tin and copper ores and running to the al-kharid furnace and then running all the way back to the varrock anvil whenever I was on.

 

going to pvp with full addy when i thought 10k was alot and didnt bring food *didnt know about food*. was such a noob..rofl

 

i remember being 21 combat wearing full steel that my friend game me. I called a 20 wearing full mith a noob so we decided to fight each other in the wildy. We fought and i got killed then begged the other player to give back my steel. Worst day of my life.

 

Pickin flax, makin bowstring, 150k/hour... that was the best.

Man those were the days. Back when you felt a sort of kinship with the other noobs. Everyone was poor as hell, but it was fun just going around looking for random crap to keep yourself entertained. You never really thought about being ridiculously rich because back then it was virtually impossible unless you were willing to devote hours and hours every day. I was more concerned with straining my stats and looking bad ass (with my spined armor ).

 

haha yeah, i remember wearing black armour just cause it looked cool, even though i had the stats for better stuff.

 

These threads always make me feel old. I've been playing for 10 years. When I started playing everybody was a 'n00b'. But one thing that I will always remember was:

I was always seeing 'lmao'..and at the time I was only 9, so when I saw this I didn't really understand internet slang. I always thought people were calling people 'lame-o' and just never understood why they did it in that context and always mistyped. Until one day I was like "Bishop, you're just a lmao" to my friend. He was confused, and then told me what it meant lol.

 

Haha I have quite a few old memories of RS

I remember defeating Elvarg back in RSC on a bright, sunny Saturday morning, with full addy armour and a rune longsword. I couldn't afford a R2H at the time as they were like 500k or something ridiculous (back in RSC every weapon had the same speed, so R2H was by far the best weapon even though it was 2 handed). I was so stoked when I went and bought my first rune plate! Then saving up for full rune!

I remember PKing at the castle in level 13 wildy, and at the bandits camp making pizzas when I was like 40 combat and RS2 first came out. Had so many good times there with my friends, aswell as PKing my first few sets of full rune in that castle using clever lure tricks that we made up and coordinated over the phone

Or as far back as I can remember, I remember working my FUCKING ASS off just to earn my first set of full black armour in Runescape Classic. I saw these 4 or 5 people sitting under a tree near Varrock once and when I talked to them, I discovered that they were a small clan and everyone wore black armour. So I worked for weeks mining iron and coal and collecting wood to pay for a full set. I also had to buy each piece from the individual shops from what I can remember, and it was quite the accomplishment when I finally finished.

Godamn I miss the old days of Runescape when I first discovered it. I could honestly write a novel about all the funny, crazy, and amazing times I had playing this game as a young kid.

 

Haha! Yeahhh. Full black was 10k standard price. Remember it being such a ridiculous task to find a black battle axe or 2h.

I remember when I first killed Elvarg too, I remember having to keep wiping my palms on my jeans because it was so intense lol.

Castle pking was the shít. Pking those guys that always were picking up the chaos runes and using them to add to my pking gear Having to chase them back and forth up and down ladders was always a challenge to get to them before they logged.

Logging in and out for catch before you go pking Certing and uncerting your lobbies and swords before/after you pk. Suicide training on Jailguards in draynor, 3 iteming. Being able to walk from Lumb to varrock/edge was so set in your brain that you could do it blindfolded.

Low level pking was always extremely fun. I miss arching behind the fence with my xbow in varrock, and being careful not to go in when an actual melee'r was behind the fence too because you were only 10hp lol.

Making a wine pure, drinking wine then punching the bags in varrock to have a level 13 with r2h. Only 10hp though d: Deathmatches at altar, and chaos altar. r2h, strength ammy, str pot, and swordies.

When pking in style(ie monk robes, wizzy hat, gloves, iron chain) meant risking food spaces.

If you were a 1def pure, you always had to make sure that when you first logged in you had to not kill a low HP NPC because you were defaulted to "controlled" attack style giving you def exp. Making a super quick switch to strength/attack before you kill a monster was always the task at hand and should never have been forgotten.

Botting low level NPCs(cows, monks, chickens) were always the fastest EXP getters if you were a pure.

"How many levels pure are you?" meant how high in levels your HP was in comparison to combat. This meant pures couldn't raise magic, because it gave you a lot of combat levels. A pure always had rune chain, If I look on my old accounts I don't even have any rune plates just chains.

When the most expensive item in the game wasn't more than 200K.

i remember those days so perfectly so ill tell a few.

i remember me and my brother buying things off an online store called 'rpgstash' i remember buying full black and red mystic and a obsidian cape.
i remember it was my very first account and i loved magic so i just trained magic(didnt know it was called a pure at the time) i got to 70ish magic i remember playing for hours killing cows.Then i remeber getting so much cowhides i could afford a lava staff.So i bought one and felt the bomb/

Then i remember someone offering me full guthix and full gold and white mystic for my black and red mystic and my staff and cape. I loved mine to much and didnt sell it. Then i talked to my brother and he said the items are worth much more then mine and i felt dumb not accepting.

Another time is when i was saving for full rune on a different account. I mannaged to obtain 100k and my friend lent me some money to buy full rune. When i bought it i felt so good and ran into the wild(There was no ditch back then) and i attacked someone. The second i attack the person he dds speced me and i died. I logged out in rage and quit for a month

I also remember when i was very young my brother persuading me to cut trees for him on his account and i thought it was the funnest thing in the world

old runescape was just so good. I miss it

I remember when i was like 2 levels above all my irl friends and they got jealous as fuck and started to hate on me xD.

I tried to buy black in g.e.. was inpatient how it wouldn't buy

I offered to help a dude with a lvl 50 clue, wearing all my armour and had my cash pile in the inv.. lost it logged out and felt horrible inside.

Private Servers & Bots ruined my rs spirit. Ever since them i couldn't be bothered to do it legitly. I'd do anything to go back to them days.

 

Killing Cows for Money, asking for free stuff/runes, scamming a bronze square sheild.

 

Looting in the wilderness i thought 1m per week was EPIC.
