Diablo 3 free for WOW players.

Update 11:15AM PST - DIABLO 3 WILL BE FREE TO WORLD OF WARCRAFT SUBSCRIBERS. It will be available to people who subscribe to World of Warcraft for 12 months, these people will get Diablo 3 for free when it launches, the full digital version of the game.

Thought I'd share this, not sure if this has already been posted.

 

You'll also get a sweetass mount too. However, staying comitted to WoW for 12 months seems steep. Between raid content patches and the plethora of new titles. I'm not sure if it really would be worth it.

 

I have been playing WoW since February 2005 which is pretty hard to believe, but as far as this goes, I would probably end up simply buying the Diablo III package as I would have no reason to continue playing WoW for anytime, let alone 12 months, if I was just going to start playing Diablo III. I truly wonder how many will actually "fall" for this.

 

It's just a marketing scheme.

 

Its a good idea, prevents the loss of too many wow subscribers, which, as any businesman knows, subscriptions are nicer than a one time payment. Steady cash flow.

IMO the more $$ blizzard makes from d3 the better for us cuz then we might not have to wait another 10 years for the next one.. lol

 

Smart move by Blizzard, locking in subscribers with SWTOR coming out.

 

This pretty much nailed it, lol. Either way, I made the subscription. Looking forward to D3.

 

Sure it may be a petty marketing scheme to keep people stuck on the game with all these other games coming out - most importantly The Old Republic. Still, one who is going to be fully dedicated to wow for another year is benefiting hugely from this offer.. Still wondering about it, myself.

 

Time to play WoW.

 

Not sure I want to commit to 12 months WoW when D3 comes out. Not saying Diablo has the longetivity as WoW. But just for the sake of a free game? Eh, I'll get the limited edition set.

 

They are only doing this because of the number of people who are going to stop playing when Diablo 3 comes out.

 

Screw a one year sub. I'll just pirate that sht. :laugh:

 

You won't be able to play if you pirate it I don't think. You have to login to your account even while playing offline mode.

I bought the 12 months thing about a week ago. Can't wait!
