The "lifetime" of software refers to the entire span of a program's existence, not until you die. This seems to be a big misconception.

 

There was a similar case of a plugin being sold as a lifetime but it only worked for couple of days. Guy had to refund.

 

Depends on context imo. To shut down for the sake of being done with the project is one thing. To shut down due to CnD is another.

 

They should be required to disclose the date they received the C&D. Anyone who purchased a lifetime key after that date should be entitled to a refund, since the seller already knew the service was likely coming to an end. Anyone who bought before the C&D is unfortunately just out of luck, as the seller couldn't have known at that point.

 

This 100% is the way I feel it should go as well.

 

The guy in question purchased Hydra stuff in 2023 according to the video evidence he uploaded. So it's safe to assume he's had a fair usage out of it.
