Most people tend to RWT at places like Lumbridge, the GE etc. and so maybe Jagex is now lightly monitering certain places/world that have been known to be RWT hotspots, and taking action against large one-sided trades as part of their actions to remove goldfarming from the game? It is possible that when Oxo was doing his trade, it somehow alerted Jagex, who subsequently took the item he was trading along with most of his GP from all his mule accounts.

This is just a theory of course, but it makes sense to me. Most people I have traded with before tend to want to meet W5 or W8, lumby or GE. It could just be a coincidence, but those are pretty well known trading spots. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if Jagex were monitoring those spots as a strategy to eliminate gold traders.

 

What security were you using on your wireless? WEP?

 

Yes, occasionally this happens due to lagg. The person taking the screenshot had waited around 3 minutes on that screen, gone to the lobby, and back many times.

 

I doubt he has been wep hacked, and the hacker was playing runescape.

 

If it was Jagex you should receive manual perm bans and/or messages in the account folders - at least on your main.
Check them.

If they do anything on your account they will inform you.

Also; did you even access the accounts that had been banned after you added your number #1 suspect? As that will rule out possible hacking.

The fact that you were dealing with a known (unknown to you) scammer makes it interesting though. Something is missing in this puzzle.

 

The fact that you saw a different IP on an account and no IP's on all other accs does indeed lead to think that you got hacked + wealth rolled by jagex, it is though highly unlikely these 2 events occur at the same time in 5 minutes, not impossible though.

I got hacked several times in the past, i can almost confirm it's jagex's work
i don't it is possible to blank out IP unless your Jagex

I am really sorry for your loss, I can feel how you feel got scammed myself for over 25B (money that I made on RS so not really any loss from my pockets) but yeah it hurts a lot

Keep your head up though and use more secure methods to transfer (p2p-staking etc..)

One thing that need's to be cleared for everybody : JAGEX doesnt notify you IN ANY WAY AT ALL that they reset your cash.

It was obviously Jagex. You were probably being monitored during the trade.

 

J Mods have been basically camping F2P worlds (Lumby/GE)... I was doing a MM and noticed one a few days ago

So if Jagex took it, they would not send a message. They would want to do it in secret so this conversation that we are having right now is happening. Jagex has stepped up their efforts and I believe it was them. I would still completely clean your computer tho just in case...

Also, what has happened when you try to contact this msn since? Just complete ignore, says they're offline?

That does suck! I wouldn't doubt it being possibly a new trick Jagex has against RWT.

 

while your computer is RAT'd the person can use your web cam, listen thro your mic and monitor your movments live... no idea about the ip tho.

A normal user could NEVER leave a blank IP, unless it's due to lag.
Only way to leave a blank IP is to get it done by Jagex, as they are the only one to have control over IPs.
