Gf $8000

Well today, I was in the middle of doing a trade with someone for a white partyhat. I went to the toilet, and left the trade window open on the first screen. I come back, and check my gold mules and everything was completely cleaned, around $8000 in total.
Most of the IP addresses were left blank, I believe his msn is [email protected]

If this is in the wrong section, then i'm sorry. I'm in the process of wiping my other pc, and have changed all the passwords on the pc that could be compromised on the pc that is fine.

I really really, need advice if I can catch the guy, or whatever.

Why did you leave to the restroom in the middle of a trade? O__________o?
Why not accept the trade first, log out, then go to the restroom. OR. Decline the trade, logout, go to the restroom, come back and resume?

 

I do not know, Im 100% clueless, the buyer requested me to, as he apparently was coming to my house and wanted to see the phat before hand.

 

Do you know if jagex cleaned you? Seems to be happening a lot lately with bulk buyers.



Edit: If he knew your address he could have easily cracked your wireless and a possibility of installing stuff on your pc.

Edit: Well jagex has been resetting wealth a lot recently during and after big trades (only happening to bulk buyers)

edit: since all your mules were touched... I am thinking it was Jagex... although there is a small possibility of him cracking your wifi.. unlikely.. but still

Edit: I agree with old english that Jagex cleaned you. Though the rest I don't agree with. It really depends if your pc is password protected and open on the network. You just have to know what you're doing. I'm not a hacker nor do I know how to do it. Although I was a pc tech and I know methods for such do exist.

Unless you were connected via teamviewer or RAT'd he couldn't have taken them.

 

It HAD to be JaGex, even if the guy cracked your IP you'd have to accept the installation of the programmes, for him to be able to obtain ANY information on your PC.

JaGex reset your bank, and chain-ban your accounts on most occasions in this case they'll have reset your wealth, and you'll most probably receive some sort of ban soon.

 

He had no information par my name and address, but those details do not in anyway correlate to my rs account details/recoveries/passwords etc.

The IP's were all blank, bar one.

 

As far as I know, there isn't a way to blank out your IP from a personal computer, even using proxies. As Old English said, it's most likely JaGex. I didn't know they have been resetting wealth like that though. Really sucks for you man. I'm sorry for your loss. :/

That's actually a valid point. o_o Erasing Partyhats from the game affects the economy. Hmm.. Interesting if it wasn't JaGex and this guy was just that good.

 

Did you give him your IP or anything that could have helped him tracing you?

 

I doubt Jagex would steal a Party Hat, especially a white one, although them taking gold is understandable. Virus scan your PC and change your WI-FI password just to be sure it wasn't anyone else.

 

Im in the process of wiping my pc, Ive changed all passwords on that pc, I had one white phat, the rest was all cash stored in slots in ge. The whole bank was gone, runes/armour etc. not just cash

 

Also, this was in the space of under about 5 minutes, all my gold mules, around 5 were gone.

 

That looks like a keylogger. Already happened to me and they make it crazy fast, everything's gone inside 2 minutes and there's no IP left.

 

if your entire bank was cleaned i would feel more inclined to say it was Jagex to tbh, some hacker isnt going to take the time out and drop EVERY single item in your bank, too much effort, pointless if there was alot of junk that you wouldnt care about anyway, would just take valuables and log.
