Why Was RSGP 3-4$

Just on the basis of how high items have risen since Rsbuddy's announcement, I don't see it getting that high even. Time will tell.

 

It was so much because there weren't as many bots and players to produce gold.

 

There is still so much gold in the game right now. Even if the supply does shorten and gold does rise, I think it will be very gradual and will happen slowly over time. It is actually quite easy to obtain legitimately, and so I doubt that there will be a huge shortage of GP anytime soon.

 

Now there is so much gold in the game that 1M is nowhere close to what it used to be. Someone said before about how it used to be more then 3-4$ I remember when (A VERY LONG TIME AGO) it was 20$/M. I might have that price wrong in my head but it was very expensive.

 

It was harder to obtain and less of it

 

I don't ever remember gold being THAT expensive, but I definitely do remember when gold was pretty darn close to $10/M.

Back when gold was very expensive though, I was very young and didn't really know much about the RWT and the Runescape black market. I hardly even knew that it existed, and I never would have thought that people would ever exchange real life money for virtual goods. I was very oblivious to that sort of thing so I would not be surprised if gold was actually much more expensive than I remember and I simply had no knowledge of it.

It is crazy how much this game has grown and changed I do know that many, many years ago that gold was much harder to obtain and that people had significantly less gold than nowadays. 1M used to actually be alot of money. 1M now is like the equivilant of like 100k back then.

 

I remember when Urballzrmine was the richest staker and probably one of the richest people in RS with a 27B bank, more than Chessy was worth back then. That was sometime in 2006/07, when gold was around $5/M

 

there were very less methods of obtaining gold and the bot farming was also very kind of bad............

Not much supply for gold back then and there weren't as many bot farms and rich people.

 

we farmed legit. Like i did 11m to 400m(and 100m sold) so 500m in 1year from ge flipping alone, everyday loggin 3-4times a day to check ge. At 11m i made 500k a day(low), 20-30m i made 1m a day, and up to 117m i remember i did in f2p cause wasnt playin for a while just flippin. at 117m at p2p 2-3m a day, and at 300m i remember i started with 8m a day(2-4m alone a day from toktz-ket-xil). 8m a dayx4 is 32$ which is a fair amount for 1 day work. when i had 300m purple was 80mish when i had 400m then purple 75,76m(kept crashing from 180m, ppl didnt buy/didnt have money to waste)

Money had value, that's why.

 

After a solid year and a half of bounty hunter statuettes + every man and his dog botting their ass off the RSGP value dropped.

And damn, if that repeat answer rule were really ever enforced.... Rs sections would be so dead.
