    720p vs 1080p As a monitor/TV

So basically, I'm returning the faulty 26" I have and I intend to get a new brand.

From what I've googled, 720p vs 1080p isn't noticeable in screen sizes like 24"-26", is this true?

However, I also heard that if I'm using it as a monitor for my PC I WILL notice a difference between 720p and 1080p.

I will be using it to play my 360 on ( VGA input, until I go out and buy an HDMI cable), and as my desktop monitor ( VGA input ).

Now the Insignia has a 50,000:1 Dynamic Ratio, where as the Westinghouse has a 100,000:1 Dynamic ratio, what does that mean? ( Edit )

Of course I would like a bigger screen, however I don't want to lose noticeable quality for it really.. My friend has a Westinghouse, and It looks great with his 360, but I haven't seen him use it as a monitor enough to see what the quality is like.

I know a lot of Sythe users use TV's for monitor/double for an actual TV, so I figured this would be a pretty good place to ask.

Also, the Insignia is a best buy exclusive brand ( I'm assuming they make these products? ) and it has good reviews on the page, but does anyone have any experience with this brand?

TVs as monitors are not ideal. Also, there is a huge difference between 720p and 1080p. It's like 50% more pixels. I can VERY easily tell a difference between gaming at 720p versus 1080p. Video looks better as well. For using your computer though the extra screen space is REALLY nice, trust me.

That said, I don't think there's many games on 360 capable of playing at native 1080p. I think most, if not all 360 games just upscale 720p to 1080p, which is not the same.

Tough choice but I'd go for 1080p. My TV is 720p and I'm regretting it.

I've been leaning towards 1080p more myself, and I wouldn't mind losing the "'s if the difference is as large as you made it out to be in your post. I called my local best buy earlier today, and they have the insignia in stock.

    Edited OP with the following:

Also, the 26" 1080p one you posted has a 10,000:1 Dynamic ratio, which is worst than both the others? Would be skeptical on buying it since it has no reviews.
