What is runescape like now?

Jagex has only won temporarily.
To say that they've won the war against bots this early,
is just plain foolish.

 

Seeing as though RSBuddy closed down and hired the owner of it who is probably better than any scripter Jagex has then yeah, botting is dead now. Jagex are releasing a lot of fun and interesting updates too, which will undoubtedly improve RS.

 

Although RS won't be RS 2006 again, I feel that bots are fucked now and more legit players will return hopefully.

Bots aren't coming back. Jacmob is apparently now a JMod..

 

I wonder what his post will be like on the RS forums, be interesting if any rage posts get sent his way for betraying botters.

 

Its pretty empty, But overall it was a good move. Now you can do slayer and skill without having to compete for monsters/resources. It's defiantly funner than what it was about a month ago.

Rumor is he brought a fully functional version of RSbuddy to RuneFest and showed jagex and they offered him a job.

It is going to be strictly a fansite, yes.

 

A fansite for bots and cheating? Or is it going to be transformed into a legitimate Runescape fansite?? That would be quite interesting I just kind of assumed it would turn into a blackmarket site or something.

There is still a rather large number of people who have accounts/are registered to that community. It would be a shame to just let it go to waste, because if they found something useful to do with the site they would instantly have alot of traffic and users who were already registered.

Well if its true that Jacmob is going to work for Jagex, he is just going to let if fizzle out until it dies. And if he really wanted to preserve the site, he wouldn't have done the announcement and such this way. If you look at the site, 75% of the topics are pissy rage quits. lol

I know some of you are not huge fans of merching clans, but look what Smokin' Mils did. When Jagex announced the return of free trade, Mr J slowly began the transfer from an manipulation clan to a flipping, guides, rwt marketplace, and dicing clan. Jacmob could have done this as well (obviously totally different ideas but same concept), yet he kind of bailed out. No hate from me, I am opposed to botting, but it does appear as if he doesn't care.
