Am i morally at fault here? Consider that I warned him that I WAS NOT THE ORIGINAL nor even the longest owner of the account? Its not reselling either, I told him out in the open that i would not even be responsible if the account got banned/locked/deleted/recovered.

I did make a 200$ profit, and i do feel guilty, but no i cant repay him because i dont feel obliged too ( at this moment) , I will try and get him the account that he deserves back though. For my peace of mind more than anything else. But what are your thoughts? am i a bad person? am i just someone taking advantage of the system and ill defined rules? or as some of you vehmently put it, do I deserve a ban?

Im headed to my 12 hour work shift, i probably wont be checking this thread too often for the next 24 hours.

 

Morals aside, it's his fault if he agreed to buy it despite knowing you weren't the original owner. But still, needs to be investigated into more before reaching a final conclusion (and I CBA).

Considering this thread is in the spam forum, you'll probably get trolled. Anyways, who pays $1200 for an RS account which most likely will be recovered.

Let me put this in another way you may understand. You buy a Pokemon card which you can not see, it is covered with a cloudy plastic cover. You are told it is a limited edition Charizard and you are told that if it is a very bad quality fake then you are not responsible for any refund. Imagine if Walmart did this - they would be sued in a fucking heartbeat.

In conclusion:


You are morally obliged to pay him back
If standard USA/EURO/AU consumer protection laws applied to this sort of trading, you would be LEGALLY obliged to pay him back or would face criminal and civil charges

With that said, due to the loop holes of the internet and this forum you can most likely not pay him back and get away with no repercussions.

let me give you lazy guys on here a tl;dr i bought the account from A here on sythe and sold it to B. It gets locked, I cant recover it, A tells me he cant either( might be lying). I told B i would not be responsible if this happened.

I didnt expect this to happen at all actually, but in my heart im glad i sold it, or it would be me down a 1000$. Now why am i morally obliged to give back B a refund? I would be the one being "scammed" in this scenario.

Do I even remotely deserve a ban over this? I didnt know i wouldnt be able to unlock the account, and its partly the buyers fault. ( Also i forewarned the buyer that i WAS NOT THE ORIGNAL OWNER and woudnt be held responsible).

If i do deserve a ban, ill accept it with grace.

You sold an account you hadnt secured, how in any way is it the buyers fault?

 

he (and i have proof/ he admits it) went around saying " i am a jmod" in game, so it got locked, he asked me to unlock it for him and I submitted an appeal, he then submits an appeal with the exact same information 2 minutes later (and bear in mind i am in asia and he is in australia).
