    Laptop for College

Could anyone hit me up with a good laptop for College?
I'm looking for something fast, that I would enjoy typing with, not something that has rusty keys x_x.

I don't really mind about the budget but something below 1000$ would be nice ^_^

    Thanks for your opinions

What do you want to do with it? You can get a cheap ass laptop that will handle typing and shit, or an expensive one that will play games like a desktop..

It all depends what you want to do.

What do you mean by rusty keys? And I second that, what will you be using the computer typically for. (Chances are you won't have to dash out a grand foe one)

I have a Asus G60 and from everyone who has seen my laptop loves the keyboard. It is comfortable and not hard to push. I have used other peoples laptops like Toshiba and the buttons are hard. Asus are usually pretty good for the money. With 1k you can get a Asus G72 which is pretty good.

To be honest, the best laptop that I've ever had was a Lenovo.

They can last a LONG time if handled properly, my friend has one that's almost 6 years old.

I work in a computer repair shop, and trust me, the cheapest brands always come in. We always get Dells and HPs, no joke. I have seen one Lenovo, and that wasn't a hardware issue, but the owner got a virus on it and we had to wipe it clean and reinstall.

However, good Lenovo laptops don't come cheap...Sometimes you can find GREAT deals on their website. I got my current IdeaPad Y470 for only $900 something, and its normally $1500.

As for model, I would recommend the IdeaPad. Fast processor and great graphics cards.

I also suggest buying one with 8GB of RAM, because the rate at which technology is growing right now, it would be common to see 16GB laptops and maybe even developing a 32GB.

Eitherway, my final recommendation is an IdeaPad Y-Series, I've had it for a month and it has not given me any problems at all.

    Good luck!

Im going to recommend my laptop
    It's a Acer Aspire 5552G-7641
Decent performance for the price which is $650-$700
Comes with 4 gb of ram you can upgrade another 4 gb for $20-$40
Gets a little hot but it's lightweight and suits my mild gaming needs(Starcraft 2)

If you're at all tempted to spend more than $1000 and less than $2000, you could grab yourself an ASUS G74 for roughly $1500+ I believe. Really nice laptop, loads of speed, multitasking power and performance for such a good price. Best value for money in my opinion.

He's not going to need an uber-fast gaming computer. You need something reliable, trendy, and light. Macbook pro, and upgrade the ram to 8gb on your own

    :edit:

macbooks are cool computers, fun to use, and will get you loads of pussy (more than alienware at least)

Or Macbook air if you're going to be in college? (More practical to carry around?)

Don't be an idiot. Get something cheap and reliable, like an Asus or something. Don't overpay for an apple product.
