Wow Jagex...

I thought Runescape was about to hit rock bottom. With all of the bots and gold farmers...

Jagex has gone way above and beyond to get rid of botters, and is now spending more time making nice updates that we will actually enjoy. My opinion on Jagex has changed a lot.. I really hope that they keep this up.

 

Now lies the question will they actually keep this up? or was this just done during runefest and to keep the legits happy for a few weeks/Months

 

Exactly. I really hope they keep it up though. Their game was about to hit rock bottom.

 

They just hit rock bottom. The bot nuke has caused FPS lag and a lot of bugs. Many players aren't even able to log in due to that nuke. The game looks empty and a lot of members quit as well.

I still log on like normal and they are NO BUGS AT ALL. If you ever seen one, why don't you post them in the pictures section or in the general section to let everyone know what you've been through? Obviously, there's nothing, so there's nothing to post.

And the game does NOT look empty. You're probably in a 200 people world, and yes I know the G.E looks empty, but hey, do you want to go in to a time machine, go back to three weeks before where in every world there would be 99% bots, and when you tried to ask someone for something at the G.E no one replies you? Because they are either item-sniper bots, or fletching bots or herb bots... and NO members don't quit at all. The only members that quit are the ones who bot nearly their entire life. And yes, that's the only reason they quit, because bots don't work anymore, and too lazy to even boss legitly.

 

Like Omega said, worlds were populated with about 70-90% bots, the social mechanic of the game was completely thrown out the window. Really enjoy playing legit now.

 

I don't play any more, but if they keep this up I'll consider actually bothering to level up, I did literally just slay to talk to people/gain levels ect. But when the aspect of not even being able to talk to players because they were 99% bots I lost the will to play because it became tedious, and boring without the banter.

 

Imo they lose X$ from removing bots but in the long run it will pay off. Legit players buy other things and promote the game to other friends.

If the world got to a world with 99% bots which it would have it would be pointless and GP worth zip

I think they could fix a lot of the graphical glitches but besides that I'd say that they have vastly improved the game over the past few weeks.

 

Took jagex long enough to get a 25 killstreak..noobs.

Never said is happening to me. Yes sure YOU'RE doing fine but I'm getting a lot of complaints from my friends bitching and whining to me. Check RS forums there's a load of members complaining they can't log in that's why the game is empty.

 

i seem to be getting a worse connection from runescape now? seems like i have to wait alot to load when running around etc...

 

Same, this is a killer in Soul Wars. Doesn't even compare with the lag that occurred with all the bots in the past.

 

I believe they are kind of gutted now since its seems they have lost around 40-50% of there memberships. but still they will also stay alive for alot longer. so good and a bad side.

 

Lets see how they do against RSBuddy once there Bot timer is finished up RSBuddy should be fully functional by then.

 

I get the same thing. They did a huge code re-write, which is what's causing all of the problems. Hopefully it will be remedied soon.

I don't understand where everyone is getting these numbers. They did NOT lose 50% of their subscribers. Most of the accounts they banned were F2P. Granted, a lot of P2P gold farmers got banned, but not the drastic number you are coming up with. It would be dumb of Jagex to ban that much of their revenue.

I doubt they will be. I actually believe Jagex this time around, and I can bet you by the time RSBuddy has it 'figured out', Jagex will have changed it on them yet again. I hope they stay one step ahead. I'm regaining some of my respect for them.

Thats all i have to say on the matter. you may be in for a surprise, although rsbudy do state they do not support gold farmers

 

I'm both for and against bots, I can sympathize with those who've never botted, and see the game going to shit. Who are encouraged to bot, as their fellow players may be out partying, and still gain a considerable amount of xp, while they sit there actually playing the game.

However, in respects of things I'd rather look back when I'm older, and rather than seeing myself spending my teenage and childhood years just playing computer games, for which I have nothing to show for, I'll have made a fair amount of money. And bought things I've always wanted.

To conclude, you could spend around 6 years of your life attempting to max your stats, or you could spend a few thousand pounds from a nice salary, and get it all given to you.
