RS vs Bot Analogies

Here is my example;

Jamglex is an island and includes its surrounding waters. Jamglex has jurisdiction over the island and surrounding waters.

Fishing is a fun and recreational activity enjoyed by Jamglex citizens. Some recreational fisherman might use an inappropriate net or grenade to catch more fish every now and then as they are busy doing other things. No big deal, the fish are able to replenish themselves and the ecosystem is still balanced.

But whats this.. The big bad flasians who have already out-fished their own jurisdiction get wind of the semi-peaceful Jamglex's resources. The flashians send out many shitty boats, with disease and virus's to STEAL Jamglex's resources.

Now Jamglex is MAD! "How dare they" the people say (even though some have been using nets themselves). Jamglex writes a stern letter in Bold and CAPS. Nothing happens... More and more flashians keep coming, fishing more, depleting the ecosystem.. They even invest in proper boats, to get more of the resources... *cut to Lion King when Simba returns to see what Scar has done to the land*...

Jamglex is pissed!!! Jamglex send out big, powerful, expensive war cocks every now and then and stop a few of the vessels; however, big bad flasians get more greedy and greedy as they live in a COLLECTIVIST society and keep pursuing all the fish.

Now Jamglex have had it so they think .."hmm what can we do"!! There is to many of them and our people are mad! So they turn the water into Ginger Beer!! The boats aren't made for Ginger beer so start to sink and crash and all the flasians start having to swim up ginger beer creek.

"ORRRR SHHHITT"What can we do" they say? "All we know is how stearrl fish from Jamgrex". "I don't rike dis at orrr!"

"Well you managed to build the Great Wall of China" so get over it "laughs Jackblob & Are-bit-errr the boat designers who now when they think about it are pissed having to redesign the whole boat. "Where the fuck is Noah's arc when you need him" they mutter under theirbreath.

Yep, totally pointless. I think it is a combination of uni exams, procrastination, coffee, reading through countless posts, more procrastination, and being the only 1 fishing at the fishing guild

 

Also seems a tad bit racist imo.

 

It is a fictional story based on real life events. Obviously taken from the asian gold farming epidemic on Runescape. I was mainly referring to the plethora of problems Australian fisheries department/security have with japenese/thai/indo etc etc coming into our shores and other nations or using black holes to out fish the place (which is a very very serious problem and issue) and simply relating it back to Runescape. Not racist, just basing an analogy on facts

 

I take it you're doing sociology at Uni? If so, ditto! It was quite a good read, indubitably it could've done with a plausible explanation of the events that occurred in-relation to the prospect of Runescape botting.

 

If you read it with understanding he's basically talking about all the botting events and whatnot that have happened , but put it into a strange , yet interesting story . Summing this all up , he's saying Everyone likes playing RuneScape but some use grenades or nets , meaning bots to have a better advantage over other players because RuneScape is too time consuming and they have other things to do . This being said , the botters don't really cause a huge impact on the game . Then they eventually get moneyhungry and start goldfarming on throwaway accounts . JaGeX takes this situation very slightly and doesn't really look into it . Then more and more people start the mass botting and goldfarming causing the economy to go in a downward spiral . Every now and then JaGeX would do a bot hunt and ban many accounts , mostly F2P but it doesn't stop the botters . JaGeX realizes that they are losing players , meaning they are losing money so they decide they need to fix this problem by doing the huge bot nuke . The last part basically is talking about the bot developers , Arbiter and Jackmob and how the botters are left with nothing but to sit and wait for a "new" updated bot client from the developers , but the developers are just lagging to get as much money out of customers until the customers realize it was all a hoax .
