as long as they can use img tags in PM.

People post images from all over. I like the idea of just banning img tags in PMs better.

 

Well you already have the list right there, I don't see why people need other hosts.

But banning img tags in pm's would also be a good solution.

People like their own hosts. I don't want to take away people's choice for what site they use just to stop people from gathering IPs. Its really not a big deal and disabling the img tags for post is much easier to implement.

 

How to you report pm's?

 

There's a report button on the right top of the message.

Basically the same as normally reporting a post.

 

White list for images needs to be added.

Imgur, Imageshack, tldr.me, etc.

 

I find it scary that anyone can get your IP from you just opening a post. .

Let's say they post a thread and link me to it.

They can't link an ip adress to a specific user then.

 

Unless they watch (or have a bot watch) the thread, then it's pretty easy. A little more involved I guess but not at all difficult. If you're concerned with people being able to grab your IP address, then you shouldn't view hotlinked images at all. Disabling them in PMs but not posts gives a false sense of security.

 

Maybe you should edit your post, don't give them more ideas

 

Embed a keylogger into an image? So if you view the image you get a keylogger? Lolwut
