School's Fundraising Ideas

Not sure where to post it, so might as well post it in the General topic, and I'm going to make a similar/copy version in the Assets and Investment section as well, since we are all about Fundraising.

Here's a little insight to what I'm talking about, I'm sure most of you had various and different clubs and committee and all that, and one of them is like fundraising for better equipment in school and fun activities and such.

However, we are almost out of ideas, and I'm sick and tired of using the same thing over and over again, or what you guys call it, a cliche.

So here I am, begging for some ideas, or perhaps you might have an interesting one from your school that I could spread to mine let happiness spread around the world and the smiles be contagious.

Just post, topic-relevant thanks! Any idea will be appreciated, the more you have, the better , also try to keep it festive-relevant too, such as for Halloween, we had invested in cheap stuff and packed them in to what we call them "Halloween Packs" and sold them at a higher price to the students, not of course an outrageous price, but an affordable price so we could raise some money from an investment.

Here's some ideas to get your minds clickin', Christmas is coming! What should we do? Exams are a stress, any ideas? Perhaps something more original? Just let your creativity flow!

 

At work we used to do fun runs to raise cash for charity could try something similar.

 

We always have a garage sale. We go around our neighborhoods and get people to donate anything and everything, and we have a gigantic garage sale on a Saturday in our school's parking lot. You make 100% profit, so it's not like there's a reason to not do it.. Car washes are always great, but unless you're in a hot state, you're probably out of time for that. Raffles are always great too, you can get restaurants and stores to donate gift cards, free meals etc. to you and then sell raffle tickets for $5 a piece. Good luck!

 

What kind of stuff is popular around your school?

If alot of kids at your school like music/playing instruments, maybe you could host some sort of battle-of-the-bands type event where people buy tickets to come watch these peope's bands battle for bragging rights and title of "Best Band".

Alternatively - if you have a really artsy type school, maybe you could host a talent show for the school instead? Or an art gallery? All those sorts of events help people get some exposure for their talents/music/art, or whatever it may be, and they will likely do it for free and for the good cause. You could sell tickets for the events and use the money to go directly back in to buying equipment for the school, new supplies etc. I'm sure lots of people would get involved

My highschool once had an event where they had an N64 hooked up to a projector screen in the theater, and kids bought tickets to either come compete in Mario Kart 64 races, or just to spectate and cheer on their friends.

Or maybe you could host a beer pong tournament, instead of using beer through you could use pop or make some kind of nasty drink that people have to drink when the balls land in their cups. Tons of people could participate and make teams, jerseys, logos & mascot etc. and you could advertise the teams around the school and people could buy team T-shirts or something and buy tickets to attend the event and support their favourite teams. That would be a really cool and really fun event! and making a professional beer-pong table is super easy.
