That would be very nice, but very unlikely to happen. :(

If their original demands are outrageous then they can bargain 'down' from there to something more moderate - which I would assume is the exact thing they had been hoping to reach from the beginning.

    This.

I totally agree that focusing on the 'grinding' aspect of the game would be a monumental help in increasing the overall joy from playing the game. I work a lot, and I find it hard to put the time aside to train the really boring, and (in my opinion) pointless stats just to get where I want to be.

Effigys, I believe, were a good implementation of Jagex to reward players with a bit of extra exp in certain skills. Though, they aren't good for fixing the grinding problem. It's intersting to speculate what they will do to combat this problem, as well as future updates to thwart bots.

OT: I'm not sure if what Jagex did was even illegal. Obviousy, Jagex tricked the system somehow, but I don't think it should be on them that the court/PayPal failed to get their paperwork straight and gave them the information they wanted. Even if it was illegal, I highly doubt most of those demands will be met. I don't know much about legal issues, though. Just interested to see where this goes. ^_^
