He made a point of quitting the game, and he wanted one last kick out of it. It would be exhilarating to go double or nothing, and if you're set on quitting and won't weep over the loss then the fun is justified. It wasn't a matter to begin with, he was aware of the implications.

I've already quit once and thought I would never come back to RS... I went 5 whole years without even so much as thinking about it, and here I am almost 6 years playing again, even with my original accounts!

I quit and sold off all the rares, everything I had, and gave my accounts away so I literally could not play again. And I STILL came back. Chances are you will too... giving away your bank might not have been a good idea If I quit again any time soon, I am just going to get all my shit sit on an account just incase I do want to come back one day. This game is just too addictive, I don't think anybody can quit for long.
