Good PC games?

What are some good PC fps or racing games. Or pretty much any game you've played and liked. And state whether they're free/paid and where to get them. Also, please move if this is in the wrong section.

 

Hey, I really enjoy playing Counter Strike Source. That is a fun game that takes true skill. I also just recently bought BF3 for Xbox and it is great. I was misinformed that Xbox only had 24 slot servers but the PC version is 64 so that will be amazing.

I highly recommend these games:
- Age of Empires 2, 1 is ok but 3 wasn't all that.
- Assassin's Creed trilogy is incredible if you haven't played them before.
- C&C series (the older ones) I can also suggest as they are fantastic and really good strategy based games.

As for COD I can't really recommend MW2 or Black Ops as they were both shit for PC, full of hackers and laggy matches. COD4 I can say is good for PC, don't know about MW3 yet.

I highly suggest you get the Half Life 2 series, they have hit up to 98% in reviews and is rated one of the greatest single player games of all time. Portal and Portal 2 were also good too, if your going to get the above then get them in the Orange Box which is a special package by Valve, many people have bought it including myself and don't regret purchasing it.

As for racing games I can't really say for the newer ones as I haven't played them. Need for Speed: Underground 2 and Most Wanted are the best ones made in my opinion.

You might like World of Warcraft, is is a subscription based service but there is a free trial up to level 20.

Apart from WoW, you have to pay for all the above. They are good games and you should definitely get them for PC.

 

I've played COD on xbox. Not going to on PC. I played WoW before, don't like it. I might possibly get Orange Box, but not sure. I've played AC on xbox. What's C&C?

 

Yeah, if you have COD on xbox then no need to get for PC. Fair enough about WoW some like some don't. You should definitely consider the Orange Box. C&C is Command and Conquer, modern and future based strategy based game. Again won many awards. Only get AC if you haven't played before, you played on XBOX so no point on PC. Most games are on for good prices.

 

Forza Motorsport 4 is an excellent racing simulator.

 

Forza 4 would be ILL on PC.

I'd also recommend that.

Also CSS / CS 1.6 Are very fun games and always have people playing online. I was also looking into buying a new PC Game and i decided to wait until 11/11/11 for Skyrim.

I have Battlefield 3 for xbox. Possibly thinking of getting Forza 4 for xbox too, but might get on pc. Will think about counter strike.

Remember with CS, it is VERY different to COD, many people have trouble adapting to it if they've only ever played COD mainly. I'm not saying don't get it, as it's the #1 FPS shooter that has won many awards since 2000. Just bear it in mind when you purchase. Plus, if your wondering what the difference between CS and CS: Source or CSS is, the graphics are better is the only real difference, still, I have both. Also Battlefield 3 has much better graphics on PC than consoles provided you have the right hardware.

 

Ignore FPS kids, play shit like Oblivion and Fallout: New Vegas. And DEFINITELY check into Skyrim when it comes out.
