The last house on the left.

I saw it when it first came out and I saw it today again. Something about the movie just makes it like it so much. It's not scary, it's not that gory but something about the plot/story just appeals to me and makes me really enjoy the movie.

The last house on the left.

I take it you're referring to the remake? I prefer the original to the original.

    The Virgin Spring (1960) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0053976/
Last House On The Left (1972) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0068833/
Last House On The Left (2009) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0844708/

The Virgin Spring is set in 14th century Sweden, so already the set design and cinematography is all the more vibrant. On top of this, the film isn't fueled by exploitative violence, but rather the suggestive themes and powerful directing.

I enjoyed both the two remakes that came subsequently after. The first had great shock value- especially when it came out in the early 70's. The 2009 remake is completely an exploitation-revenge film, but im okay with that. I enjoy gore, etc.

Really didnt enjoy it for some reason. I just could not really get into it. I think the rape scene was very strung out.

Try sitting through the sustained nine minute rape sequence in Irreversible.
