he said he banned over 7.7m gold farming accounts i was wondering did any1 get banned?

 

I watched that video last night and it seems like the bans will be progressive over the next week or 2. I don't think they have banned all of those accounts yet, but certainly a number of them. I assume they are probably only targetting 'goldfarming' accounts, as they have obviously identified a number of botters already (The Nexus "Ibot" users), and offered them a second chance providing they refrained from using botting software in the future.

They must only be targetting goldfarming accounts, because it doesn't seem like mass amounts of people have been being banned really.

 

I haven't been banned. Perhaps they're only targeting the gold farmers in Asia.

 

They said they're still gonna do stuff during the months to come

 

I'm anticipating how far this will actually go, botters must be cacking their pants, the developers are so confident but I reckon this is the first step of more considerable blows to their assets.

 

If you watch the video again . He is meaning they have identified the gold farmers and will be banning them in months to come. I'd say it's just the retards who bot like 100 accounts at green drags or something that are going to be banned and personally I don't give a fuck . People like that are the ones that ruin this game

This. People keep saying "They haven't banned 9m accounts yet! No way!" That isn't a claim they're making. They will be banning accounts for months, I'm sure. Also, if you're just some random character botting an account to improve stats or something, I'm sure you'll be hit with a temp ban and some kind of warning for the future. I do know, however, that they're much more focused on getting the major goldfarms out of the game, which I'm all for. This will probably greatly increase the price of gold and will allow regular people to use spots like Frosts, Greens, etc.

Most of the accounts that have been banned are Gold Farmers from China, Korea etc.

 

only 24/7 accounts got banned.

 

To be honest I don't think they're going to be banning members that bot their accounts for personal gain rather then the sale of gold, and goldfarming. They could simply just ban Asian/Korean IP's and you'd get rid of 99% of the people that try and farm gold for cash at the present moment.

 

Why is it these sort of countries are the main gold farmers..?

I think everybody should be cautious in the upcoming months though, as they seem to be 'monitering' peoples accounts and collecting information about people who are botting, particularly goldfarming, and then banning those accounts accordingly.

I'm sure there are many people who have not yet been banned, but are surely on the watchlist and probably in line for their accounts to be terminated. I will personally be staying away from bots in the near future just to be safe.

 

I think that's a recent number that has already been banned, may be wrong though.

I wouldn't be surprised if Jagex started doing IP bans on mass botters and such, it would save so much time rather than scanning and banning accounts on that IP one by one when there is a very good chance they are botting anyway.

 

never got banned in 7 months.

 

My friend got a letter in his message center saying that they had proof he was using bots. The only bots he used were Idunge pro and artebarrows.
